Belle Green Bed and Breakfast

Our stay at Belle Green was only for one night but, we could not have been made to feel more welcome. Situated away from the main road that passes through the village, this is a lovely B&B set in lawned gardens with views across the village to the hills. Lots of nice touches in the room (Yorkshire Gold teabags appreciated!) and a hearty, freshly-cooked breakfast. We also discovered some superb walking in the surrounding fells. Altogether a brief but, highly enjoyable stay and we will certainly be returning.

Just returned from a perfect 3 night stay at the Belle Green which is set in a perfect idyllic quite location, our room was immaculately presented with all necessary accessories required during our stay, lovely daily replenished shortbread's, an extensive breakfast menu, produce was of excellent quality cook to perfection, thankyou Ann & Steve for a wonderful stay in your charming B&, highly recommended

What an absolute gem of a place. The location is just in the most breathtaking spot, within a stones throw of Beatrix Potter’s Lake District home. There’s a pub just down the road which serves delicious food and quality ales too. The bed was so very comfy, and the host had thought of everything! Super big bath for two. The breakfast was fit for a King (or Queen) We will return later in the year.. the whole experience was just perfect. Cannot recommend this place enough…it really is perfect.

A wonderful 3 night stay with family, a great choice of breakfast and a superb hosts. Beds were very comfy, warm rooms, great tea trays also hairdryers and lots of wardrobe/storage. Dogs very welcome. Open log fire and central heating. Although this is a B & B the Tower Arms pub is 3/4 minutes away and they serve a great menu for an evening meal. A very central base for walking or sight seeing. Thank you for a memorable stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Anne and Steve at Belle Green. A beautiful whitewashed old farmhouse which has been tastefully decorated inside. Our room was comfortable and clean, though the mattress was a little hard for us, and the bathroom was quite large and immaculately clean. Loved the complimentary toiletries and was glad to see they were refillable. The homemade shortbread buiscuits were yummy and it was lovely to have fresh milk for our cups of tea. We were made to feel very welcome, including our dog who stayed for free. Had a wonderful, fresh cooked breakfast every morning which set us up perfectly for a nice long walk in the stunning, surrounding countryside. Would definitely recommend and would certainly stay again. We recommend that you make dinner reservations at the local pub prior to arriving as they are very popular but small. Hawkshead is also good for evening eateries with a few places taking walk ins.

Superb bed and breakfast. Everything is spotless. Our room overlooked the garden and had a lovely little window seat. There was plenty of storage space and coat hangers. The bathroom had a powerful shower over the bath. It had also had good quality toiletries. We were kindly supplied with a torch on an evening as there are no street lights. There is a guest sitting room with television and open fire that is great for chilling out in after a long walk on the fells. Plenty of choice at breakfast. All the food is well cooked and well presented. Ann and Steven are the perfect hosts. I can't recommend this B and B highly enough.
