We stay at quite a few big name hotels and I'll be honest, I'm fussy. We booked this hotel and I was expecting a dated victorian hotel with minimal facilties. I was totally wrong. The bed was super comfy with quality linen. There was a vast selection of teas and coffee. There was even a bottle of washing up liquid so that you can wash your cups up and we have never had this in a hotel before. The room had been updated and there was nothing Victorian about it. I would not hesitate booking this hotel again.

Amazing from a very walm welcome, room was great and comfortable and breakfast amazing. Great location to the beach, would recomend for a great break.away, would definitely use again and recommend to amyone looking fpr a relaxing break. Thank you

Where do I begin. The room was spotless, so clean and warm, with a heated towel rail in the bathroom. Egyptian cotton bedding and a comfy bed. There were little touches that make a place extra special like biscuits and a bar of chocolate with tea, coffee and water. Even a little fridge. The owners were so lovely, as was the breakfast. There is parking on the front for 3 or 4 cars and the beach is at the end of the road. Perfect. Will definitely return.

we have just spent 1 night on saturday 16th november with friends at this hotel and i must give it 100% rating for excellence. the rooms were spotless as was the bedding. all little touches such as shoe cleaning make up cotton buds and chocolate were included. the lady carol and her husband the owner were so friendly and couldnt do enough for us! the breakfast was the best ive ever had in a hotel. we will return as soon as we can. its such good value we cant thank them enough.

As a family we have stayed at the Chudleigh on various occasions. The owners were amazing at making us to feel welcome, comfortable and happy. The rooms are clean, cosy and have everything you could need in a stay and more. Breakfast was big and plenty to choose from as well as being delicious. I would recommend a stay to anyone.

Was made to feel welcome by friendly staff, nice size room. Lots of little extras that you wouldn't get in a chain hotel. Very comfortable beds and breakfast was of a high quality and lots of choice. Muffin was amazing. Would be happy to stay there again and excellent location.

We can not recommend the Chudleigh enough. The owners and staff are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. Our room (10) was extremely clean and very comfortable and had every concievable thing you could ever require and more! They really go above and beyond and there is a large selection of different teas, coffees, biscuits etc and even a bar of chocolate - now where do you get that? The breakfast that’s included was fantastic and of the highest quality. We will definately be back to see you again Carol.

We stayed at the Chudleigh in Clacton on sea in beginning of September carol the owner is so welcoming and helpful room was very clean and had tea coffee biscuits chocolate also bathroom was well stocked with little sachets of everything you need had you not bought your own very quiet breakfast is very good a great choice made available only downside was I’m asthmatic and room we had was very warm but not the hotels fault so something in future I would make sure we have a balcony would give the chudleigh 5 stars carol truly does deserve this and makes your stay very very welcoming Tracey
