Stayed for Daughters interview following day. Hotel staff were lovely, comfortable clean rooms. Beefeater next door was a whole other story. Arrived early evening, greeted initially warmly by Manager who asked if we had a booking which we didn't. Not a problem he replied but as he turned away he started to say something regarding discounts and vouchers. Having not fully hearing him I replied, 'I have a Blue light card' followed with 'sorry I didn't hear you properly'. To which he replied 'that's not what I asked, pardon would be a better word!' In complete shock and without hesitation he led us to our table explaining the menus. My Daughter was insistent we go somewhere else to it but it was quite late and we had travelled a few hours so we ate there. The waitress the following morning was lovely but I will never return there for such rude service, clearly the Manager has no customer service skills.
