Stayed in 2 different rooms. First room was because they were doing construction next to the room I originally booked. I went here during Qingming Festival, so the prices for this place were jacked up. (I think the original price of about $23 USD per night is more than reasonable but for $45 per night, I felt like it was a bit steep compared to nicer hotels I've stayed at in first tier cities.)
What I really liked was how this place was actually smoke-free. There is really good ventilation because the windows open wide (there is a glass screen blocking 70% of the window tho).
LOCATION: 5 minute walk to Line 1 and Line 2 train station, so it's very convenient to go anywhere. One of these trains (the green one) takes you directly to Liziba Station if you want to take pics of the train going through the building. The bnb itself is a bit difficult to navigate at first but the employee will come out to get you if you get lost. The bnb is RIGHT on top of Shibati (tourist location) and you can see shibati from your window. (The view is amazing)
ROOM: The first room (the whale one) looks... really dirty. The shower door can't close all the way. The noise at night was a bit unbearable due to airplanes flying over the place and this weird dolphin sounding bird in the early morning.
Second room (the room I booked). It's smaller than I thought. The bed itself was pretty clean but you can see some scuff marks on the walls and the wood was peeling off. Other than that, I was pretty satisfied with the 2nd room.
Only complaint is that the shower area has no door separating the toilet from the shower area, so water from showers will get onto the floor. The drainage system is also terrible, so I often had to open the lid myself and clear debris. (Be very careful when washing your hair!)
You can see views of shibati in the morning and at night from all the windows in both rooms. One thing is that the 2nd room is very close to shibati so the people outside can see you as they walk down a flight of stairs right across from the window. (It's not too close though.) Noise level will also be a bit loud because of tourists visiting Shibati.
