A comida também excecional, não só no hotel, mas também a servida nas atividades. A simpatia genuína de todos os funcionários, vira certamente também dos proprietários, que fazem de tudo para que se sinta bem. After much debate we opted not to hire a car and so I emailed the lodge to ask advice about airport pick up and taxis to Victoria Falls and info on what activities were available. Shingi was quick to respond and we got everything in place before we arrived. The lodge is a little out of the way, small but lovely. Our room was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfy. Food is ordered earlier in the day with a choice of two starters and mains, and we couldn’t fault it. Breakfast had a selection of fruit, cereal, meats and cheeses and there was the option of cooked, omelet or a special every day. Staff were friendly and helpful and we were always greeted with a smile. We enjoyed the communal set up for dining instead of everyone being sat at their own table. It was a great opportunity to talk to other guests, get hints and tips about some of the trips and to discuss where they had been and what they had seen. We booked two morning game drives and two afternoon boat trips. Matthew took us on all but one of these. He had great knowledge of the animals and we saw lion, elephants, giraffes on the game drives. The highlight for us though were the two boat trips, they really were special. Great opportunity to see elephants at play in the river and hippos going about their lives, we were also luck to capture two buffalo swimming between islands. Matthew was able to get us in close for photos whilst always being aware of the other boats and making sure we didn’t overcrowd the animals. When we come back to Botswana this will definitely be where we stay again.

Amazing 3 nights at this hotel. Firstly greeted by Shingi at reception who told us everything we needed to know, and also pre-booked transfers for us by e mail in advance. Rooms are really nice, comfortable & clean. Showers are great considering the location. Communal dining in the evening is a great way to meet new friends and share experiences. Breakfast was included after the game drive , dinner was extra but very good value. Both the Game Drive & Boat Cruise are amazing and a great opportunity to see Lions, Elephants, Hippo, Buffalo , Crocs & Giraffe. You will not believe how close the guide (thank you Mathew) will get you. In summary, this was an excellent lodge and exceptionally pleased we chose this place.

The warmest, friendliest lodge/hotel staff we have ever met at any place we've ever stayed and we've travelled all over the world. Everyone was so friendly and it made our stay absolutely perfect. Service was also 10 out of 10! To all the staff at River View Lodge, don't change a thing in how you do things or treat your guests. You are already doing what ever lodge and hotel around the world should be doing. You were a very big part of what made our trip to Botswana so special and we will always remember you. Before we arrived we were worried about where we would eat every night and didn't want to be stuck having to eating at the lodge if the food wasn't good. We were so impressed with the chef's food the first night we didn't even consider trying to leave the property for food. Every day we were very impressed with the food offerings and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit to Botswana. Absolutely delicious food at the lodge! The chef and baker are exceptionally good at what they do! Lastly, we want to thank the other person that made our safari trip in Botswana a 10/10 experience. Matthews is an exceptionally knowledgeable guide and we loved exploring the park with him everyday. Matthews, thank you so much for the incredible memories you have given us! Every day that passed we enjoyed our game drives and sunset cruises with you more and more! For a smaller lodge with a more intimate experience don't hesitate to book your stay at River View Lodge.

Having arrived a day early for our week in Kasane, we needed a place to stay for a night to rest from our long journey. I found River View Lodge and what a delight - a haven of tranquility, situated on the bank of the Chobe River, the lodge was an ideal stopover for us. The welcome was very warm and the food was great. Although we didn’t partake, we understood they offer safari trips into the park and boat rides to see the amazing wildlife. No hesitation in recommending River View Lodge for a warm welcome in a peaceful location for short stays and even longer.
