River View Lodge

Tudo excecional. Excelente base para visitar o Chobe e todas as atividades associadas. Contavamos apenas ficar para dormir, acabamos por fazer tudo no Lodge, desde os jantares, às actividades! Têm jipe para safari, camião e barco! Por isso, oferecem uma experiência personalizada, de qualidade e a valores muito competitivos quando comparados com as agências. A comida também excecional, não só no hotel, mas também a servida nas atividades. A simpatia genuína de todos os funcionários, vira certamente também dos proprietários, que fazem de tudo para que se sinta bem. Se pensa visitar o Parque Chobe, não hesite: reserve no River View Lodge - só terá que desfrutar das suas férias, sem mais nenhuma preocupação!

After much debate we opted not to hire a car and so I emailed the lodge to ask advice about airport pick up and taxis to Victoria Falls and info on what activities were available. Shingi was quick to respond and we got everything in place before we arrived. The lodge is a little out of the way, small but lovely. Our room was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfy. Food is ordered earlier in the day with a choice of two starters and mains, and we couldn’t fault it. Breakfast had a selection of fruit, cereal, meats and cheeses and there was the option of cooked, omelet or a special every day. Staff were friendly and helpful and we were always greeted with a smile. We enjoyed the communal set up for dining instead of everyone being sat at their own table. It was a great opportunity to talk to other guests, get hints and tips about some of the trips and to discuss where they had been and what they had seen. We booked two morning game drives and two afternoon boat trips. Matthew took us on all but one of these. He had great knowledge of the animals and we saw lion, elephants, giraffes on the game drives. The highlight for us though were the two boat trips, they really were special. Great opportunity to see elephants at play in the river and hippos going about their lives, we were also luck to capture two buffalo swimming between islands. Matthew was able to get us in close for photos whilst always being aware of the other boats and making sure we didn’t overcrowd the animals. When we come back to Botswana this will definitely be where we stay again.

We throughly enjoyed our stay here. The accommodation is extremely clean and welcoming. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We arrived at 10am in the morning and they let us check in as our room was ready, really super customer service that we were so grateful for. All the grounds are absolutely immaculate. The staff organised a Sunset river cruise, it was fantastic and a must do. We had dinner at the lodge which was 3 course, it was delicious and very good value for money. I would highly recommend The River view lodge to future guests and look forward to returning again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

As a family of six, (three generations) we spent five wonderful days at River View Lodge enjoying this intimate, well run little oasis on the banks of the Chobe Tover Our accommodation was extremely comfortable, each room tastefully decorated and thoughtfully furnished. The meals were delicious and generous. We enjoyed relaxing while enjoying a great view of the Chobe River from the open lounge area or around the pool. The game drives and sunset cruises were well organised and enjoyable with the Rangers doing their best to show us as much game as possible . We can fully recommend this amazing Lodge and look forward to a future visit. Our heartfelt thanks to Sofia and her friendly staff who went the extra mile to ensure that we all had a good time both before our visit and during our stay,

I absolutely loved staying at the River View Lodge. The staff is amazing and SO helpful. The lodge itself is small but very lovely - right on the river,with a nice outdoor lounge area and small pool. The food was great and so much better than I expected for a place its size. Aside from the awesome staff, the best part is the activities offered. On the morning game drive we saw lions, leopards, zebras, and much more. The late afternoon river cruises were relaxing and exciting at the same time, with great views of hippos, crocs, and of course, lots of elephants. I strongly recommend staying here and taking advantage of the wonderful property and activities.

We loved our stay at the Chobe River Lodge!! I came here with my husband as the last stop on our honeymoon after previously staying at 2 lodges that were on private reserves. What I would say is, don't judge a book by it's cover. Driving up to the hotel, we were not expecting to be so close to resident homes and a bit off the beaten path. But it really is a lovely hotel! Really clean, renovated nice rooms, and wonderful staff! They offer breakfast, a late lunch, and dinner every night .The dinner seating is communal so every sits around 7:30 to eat together after their final game drive or river cruise for that night. They went above and beyond one night when the options were pork or lasagna and I don't eat pork or cheese so they made me something else that I was able to eat which was so nice! Then the next day at lunch I found a small pasta dish that was made specially without cheese. It was such a nice detail that was unnecessary but so accommodating. We took a game drive with John and he was by far our favorite guide of our entire trip. We couldn't believe how much he knew!! For example, all of the cars were gathering to see a couple of lions in the field. When the lions walked away, he told our car that we should stay and wait it out because those lions are going to go on a hunt soon. He told us that patience would be rewarded. So we waited about 10 minutes and LO AND BEHOLD the lions started to actually hunt the buffalo!! And then at each step he would tell us what was going to happen before it happened - the lion would try to separate the pack, they wouldn't go for the buffalo on the end because they were too strong so they'd go for the 2nd one that looked weaker (I still don't know how he knew that), etc.) He was exceptional. We can't stop talking about our drive with him. Overall, great lodge with great staff that won't break the bank!
