St George Beach Hotel & Spa Resort

We stayed at this amazing hotel for a relaxing break. The pictures don’t do it justice. The food, entertainment, cleanliness, entertainment… everything was spot on. All staff were friendly and welcoming and made us feel so comfortable. The all inclusive is great, you won’t go hungry here as there is so much choice. The entertainment was fantastic, Memo and Marina are amazing at what they do. Memo made us giggle daily. He had variety every evening and made it fun, we weren’t expecting the lively entertainment as had not seen many reviews mentioning it so we were pleasantly surprised. This hotel should definitely be a 5 star and we will definitely be coming back here and we never go to the same hotel twice. Thank you everyone at St George for a fantastic week.

Service really good. Great range of drinks and several bars and seating areas. Entertainment every night if you want it. Sunbed allocation ok but when extra 50 rooms added next year it might make it harder to get a bed where you want. Coastal path walk into Paphos harbour 4 miles but quite easy walking. Regular buses to harbour or Coral Bay at 2 euro per ride. Tried 3 of a la carte restaurants. Good choice on menus. Room adequate size and very clean. Pools too cold but sea a nice temp at end of Oct just quite tricky getting in. Defo worth taking shoes to navigate rocks.

Stayed for a week and had a very pleasant experience Room was very clean only minor issue was damage to the laminate floor Main restaurant was amazing very varied menu all tasted great A la carte restaurants were a bit disappointing Greek menu was very basic and not very Greek although again staff were excellent Asian a la carte was lovely but service was a bit slow Allocation of sun beds is a great idea meaning everyone gets one however some premium spots were unoccupied for the week and couldn’t be given to anyone else Plenty of bar choices in the hotel again staff were a credit to the hotel Sunsets were stunning especially from the sunset bar Pool areas were all really nice and kept spotless Beach areas adjacent to the hotel were pretty treacherous very rocky and not for the faint hearted if you want to swim in the ocean Easy access to to costal path all the way into Paphos around 45-60 minutes along the route options to hire bikes or electric scooters Highly recommended would happily return

A bit of a long one but worth a read. I leave only honest reviews and all are are just my opinion and facts. PROS: On first appearance the hotel looks inviting. Foyer very bright and clean looking in appearance. Rooms cleaned daily and room towels replenished daily too. Gown and slippers provided in room too. Beach towels can be exchanged for clean ones every 2 days. Allocation of sun beds a fantastic idea too. The view from our balcony was beautiful. Great coffee was had at the patisserie. Areas eaten and drunk at cleaned immediately after leaving the area or items removed from the table once finished. Toilets in public areas around the pool and inside the hotel are cleaned various times of the day. The pool side restaurant for lunch is very nice and food is basic but quite nice. Bus fairs are cheap (2 euro to bus station then another 2 euro to harbour - 615 to bus station then 611 to harbour) taxi around 17 euros straight to harbour. Bus stop is very local. The restaurant Fat Fig was a favourite place to eat as is not only just outside the hotel but also amazing staff and food as well as entertainment (highly recommend). The spa area is lovely to use and certain areas and treatments are chargeable. CONS: THE ROOM-The hotel is quite dated. All rooms are very much the same be it basic or premium. The floors are laminated in the rooms and chipped or broken, so wise to use the slippers provided when walking around the room. FRIDGE-You get 2 bottles of water provided when arriving at the room and then you have to replenish the water bottles at the filtered water stations dotted around the hotel and grounds. The water tap at the patisserie is better to use as this is ice cold filtered water. I have stayed in many 4-5 star hotels, and would have expected water, soft drinks, beer and wine to be in the fridge and replenished daily as this is what I would have expected for this star rating but this is not the case here. ROOM SAFE-The safe works but is not secure in my opinion as although you can put your own code in, anyone can just punch 6 zeros in and the safe will open. STAFF-The staff at reception vary from very helpful and friendly to just miserable and strained to smile or greet. This is the same with various staff in the hotel generally. RESTAURANTS-The meals in the Thea buffet restaurant are very salty, not tasty at all. We ate out mostly and only really ate breakfast in here but ate lunch at the poolside restaurants. Meals at the Shogo (Asian), Route 66 (Grill) and Mercato restaurants are by far the better places to eat where foods were much more flavourful. You can only eat at these once a week. We tried to book the Palagos restaurant but was consistently booked the whole time we were there. BEACH TOWELS-We were given a slip of paper to retrieve beach towels which can be changed every two days. The towels are very tatty and thread bear around the ends. Stayed 2nd ＞ 16th April . We had to change room to begin with having mistakenly gone for a side sea view ( awful view of other buildings and hotels supply access road mostly .Noisy ,and no sun at all . Avoid these ! ) . We were grateful the reception Mgr was able to move us across the corridor to a pool and sea view room , much better , but for more money ofc ) . However, it wasnt without its issues . plug-hole plunger kept getting stuck . Called maintenance first time , but found a mechanism under sink to reset it ourselves ongoing. Power kept tripping out , but reset ourselves from in room fuseboard . Worst of all , was the standard and consistency of room cleaning . Very poor indeed . We went days without teabags, stirrers ,cups not cleaned properly , mirrors not being cleaned , floors being swept/hoovered , just all very erratic , and not expected in 4 star premises . The lift new our room , never worked the whole of our stay . A few areas around corridors seemed to be under repair /unfinished . Food : We liked the options for lunch, and indeed the main lunch restaurant tended to have more choice than the dinner buffet restaurant , for some reason ! Main evening buffet was quite limited and cramped around the service areas , leading to queues if timed wrong . We tried the Asian , which was good . But the Route 66 , was just ok . Booking on the online app failed to work twice , i would advise booking with reception to be sure . Pool area is lovely , and we liked the reservation system , although we did notice a couple of arguments and agitated people , as some folk seemed to just do what they liked . Drinks : We noticed a downgrade in quality from our 2023 visit . 5 or 6 cocktails and not a little bit tipsy ...come on ... Beer(Keo) ok . restaurant wine , awful . Get wine from Smelie wine bar if poss, much better. Entertainment : Far worse than 2023 visit . The Duos in the inside bar , whilst ok , were a bit boring and repetitive . No get up and dance /audience participation stuff . , as we witnessed last time . Whilst outside , it was all samey /karaoke , and tribute acts of varying quality. What happened to the Greek night for example?? Mr Chico , the new entertainment guy seemed addicted to 90s novelty dance music ( think Barbie girl , youll get the idea) . Staff : Mostly friendly and efficient (majority now asian) but we missed the character of the likes of Stella from the top pool bar , who has sadly left . In summary . Overall ok , but sadly not as good as just 2 years ago .

On arrival the receptionists were friendly and welcoming , offered a welcome drink and thoroughly explained all the key aspects of the hotel. Christina was amazing & always happy to help. When we got to our room ( there’s 3 of us ) we realised it was quite small for us, a double bed ( 2 singles pushed together) and a sofa pull out bed. This would have been fine however it blocks the balcony door so that wasn’t great. & 3 girls in a room made for 2 is not ideal at all- but apart from that the room was fine. Beds , even the sofa bed was comfy enough. Bottom sheet is apparently changed every other day but our pillow and duvet covers were not changed at all during our stay( there was a hole in my duvet cover so that’s how we noticed) and we stayed for 2 weeks. The rooms are cleaned and tidied by the staff everyday. If you don’t like mornings make sure to put a do not disturb sign on the door as they woke us up at around 8am but didnt have a problem after using the sign. The rooms are decent & we had a sea view - gorgeous. Air con works great but make sure your balcony door is fully shut as air con turns off when the door is open! Pools & spa - 2 outdoor pools, 1 quieter than the other. 2 indoor pools. The outdoor pools are like a warm bath which is less than ideal but after a few days we got used to it. Indoor pool is nice and cold though. The spa is gorgeous and the spa ladies are always helpful. Beach towels - You get a towel card on arrival and can change them every other day. Sunbeds - Sunbeds are allocated so no running around at 6am trying to get beds - we LOVED this. We were allocated beds by the beach bar at first but would rather be by the pool so after a few days they were able to get us beds round the pool. Bar & pool staff- Everyone had very strong English & are lovely to have a chat to. The guys that allocate sun beds and clean up around the pool are lovely & work so so hard everyday. The bar staff are great and the drinks are fab. Loved having an iced coffee in the swim up bar every morning. Cocktails, mocktails, spirits, coffee, tea, beer & milkshakes. All lovely and the staff won’t hesitate to give you recommendations. Bars - Pool bars: one is a circular bar so swim up bar on one side and regular bar on the other. The other located by the quiet pool. Beach bar is so lovely for cocktails at sunset!! Wine bar we didn’t try but it’s next to reception and it’s meant to be great ( if you like wine) but only open in the evenings Cocktail bar - only open in the evenings. We didn’t use this bar much as we were always down at the entertainment outside but they have live music every night until around midnight. Good to go after entertainment as this is open until 1am I believe - all inclusive ends at 12 but you can pay for drinks.
