Firstly, we had a fabulous time at Luna Domes (Wakehurst). I echo all the sentiments of previous reviewers - lovely decor, beds comfy, nice views, good facilities, amazing hot tub, secure, private and undisturbed. It was exactly what we wanted. Bonus was the 'Rock Inn' within walking distance which is the quintessential 'country pub'. There is so much to do and explore in the surrounding area. No two days were the same! Having read all the reviews before we went I want to make two fair obervations. Firstly, like all camping/glamping experiences this requires a bit of 'customer participation'. There is a wood fired hot tub. Beyond the first day you will need to keep it lit. The supplies are there but you will need to light the fire as needed. The main source of heat within the domes is a wood burning stove. It will be your responsbility to light and maintain. If this isn't for you and you are looking for 'plug and play' then Luna Domes is not for you. Secondly, the Domes are on the Gatwick flight path and planes do come and go frequently (some fairly low). We noticed it at first but then it 'dulled' as we got used to it. Again, if this is likely to bother you then might I suggest an alternative holiday destination. We are an industrious bunch and loved it. We sat out a lot on the outside tables, we were in the hot tub every night, we slept well, there is a Waitrose not far for groceries, a pletheroa of great pubs and some great finds (vineyards and alike). My best recommendation would be to fully read the website and understand what the experience will be like. If it sounds like a 'bit of you' then book it. You won't be disappointed!
