Golden Cross Holiday Park

We booked a lodge and is was very clean and comfortable, loved the hot tub , the lady who met us when we arrived was very friendly and helpful, we had little extras which was super teabags, coffee, dishwasher tablets etc , very quiet friendly park

The lodge itself was lovely- however the main reason we choose this lodge was due to the hot tub- we were celebrating my 50th and a friends birthday also- there was a wasps nest inside the hot tub- with wasps flying in and out non stop- one of our guests has a phobia of wasps and could not bring herself to get in to the hot tub she really did try, we informed housekeeping- we tried to call the numbers and sent email at the time i have since emailed twice more and sent video of the wasps and recieved no response at all- it wasnt a cheap night away and the customer service is appalling. Its been 2 weeks and nothing.

DO NOT STAY HERE - we booked 3 nights, but left after 1 due to the facilities being broken and absolutely awful service from the park who made no attempt to try and resolve this. The communication since has been abysmal - we made multiple phone calls and emails in attempt to discuss with a manager. All these attempts were denied by office staff, repeatedly being told the manager was “busy” or had left for the day (even on days we called at 1pm). Eventually 2 weeks later we had a call back from a manager (his name was Seb). After lots of back and forth we were promised a full refund. However, 3 months later it’s not been paid. Phone calls and emails have been ignored/not responded to. Daylight robbery if you choose to stay here and give them your money.

Stayed in lodge No. 19 which was lovely and quiet as was well away from the A22. Very warm, clean and nicely decorated lodge. Starter kit provided, washing up sponge, tea towel, spare bin bag, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee and milk sachets. Found the size of rhe lodge lovely for just the 2 of us, would have been fine also for a family of 4. Loved the 'dressing room' off the main bedroom, good wardrobe space and dressing table with big mirror. Hot tub was lovely, and very clean and well maintained every day. Not much wrong with the place that we could see, apart from hot water was not great when trying to fill the bath, ended up with a lukewarm bath, got cold in the bath so went to the shower in the ensuite, and had a lovely hot shower. Would stay again.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in 2 separate properties. Very impressed, really clean, nice small park, excellent lady who works there. Good price too. We had the honeymoon cottage which was lovely, small but perfectly comfortable, and a 2 bed home which our boys and their girlfriends used, which was really nice. Both had hot tubs which were really hot and super relaxing. Would definitely recommend this place.

After having trawled all the reviews of the site we went expecting the worst. But we vere pleasantly surprised. A family of 4 (all adult), we needed to stay in the area for a family wedding. We were greeted in a friendly way. The unit we stayed in was number 1 (by the entrance gate). The site is a mix of residential and holiday lets. It is a small site and very quiet. Yes you can just hear the main road, but we were aware of where the site is and the road noise did not disturb us at all. The unit was lovely and clean as were the beds, bedding and towels. We were provided with a cleaning sponge, tea towel, a small starter set of tea/coffee sachets and dishwasher tabs. All the plates, cutlery, pans etc were all on site and clean. The hot tub was bliss (they would save a lot of money turning the temperature down a couple of degrees) Yes there are rules around the unit. But we can understand why and the reasoning. Yes they do hold a deposit (which I was surprised at, as we have never had to put a card on deposit anywhere else for a very very long time) Yes the TV signal is a little dodgy (as can be in mobile homes in many areas) but we just found that the coax cable connection into the TV is quite loose. Only two little things would have improved our stay. Just a little bit of washing up liquid supplied would be great. And a couple of hooks outside to place wet swimwear / towels to dry would be great and could help with "dripping" onto the flooring in the unit. We would gladly stay again.
