The hotel is 9 years old, the maintenance is quite poor . On top of that there was renovation going on at level 1. Hence the rooms we were staying was dusty and smelly

To visit Lord Nataraja temple, chidambaram I stayed in this hotel with family. Ambience of the hotel is good. Service is good. If fan is on, some sort of terrible sound is coming in both the rooms we stayed. Water heater is getting problem often and it will be rectified by the electrician then and there. Overall this hotel is good for staying with family. Through make my trip we booked this hotel.

Toilet is stinking with foul odour. Corridor is Dirty and not cleaned. Bath towels are not bright white and looks dirty . Breakfast is good and no complaints. You need to train the staff for 3 star rating. Flush water is not stopping and water being wasted.

Black mould, cockroaches and the lack of cleanliness, this hotel was certainly not habitable. It was nothing like the photos that were used to advertise. The staff were far from helpful too. Stay away from this one, it’s unfortunately beyond a dive.

Complete messy hotel and worst maintenance. restrooms were unclean, pathways were full of construction dust. Renovation goes on the same floor which causes nuisance throughout the stay. Service is VERY POOR and causes additional dissatisfaction.
Cockroaches everywhere in the room, not one, many which shows how the rooms are maintained
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE. ESPECIALLY WITH KIDS AND ELDERS, STAY AWAY

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL – ABSOLUTE HEALTH HAZARD I cannot stress this enough: AVOID VANDAYAR HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. Walking into our rooms was like stepping into a toxic nightmare — the stench of black mould hit us instantly, overpowering and nauseating. It was genuinely sickening. The floors were rotting beneath our feet, the walls and corners coated with black mould, and the air felt dangerous to breathe. No one should be allowed to stay here; it’s a health risk, and authorities should shut down this place. The service? Non-existent. Staff were blazé, unresponsive, and couldn’t care less about the state of the hotel or their guests' well-being. The website and the glowing reviews? Completely FAKE and misleading. Don’t be fooled. This place is NOTHING like the photos. Our group of 13 people unanimously decided to abandon our booking, sacrificing the entire cost, to get out of there and find a safer, cleaner place to stay. That’s how bad it was. For your own safety and sanity, STAY FAR AWAY from Vandayar Hotel.

First of all, the bed lines were used, unchanged, I had to request for it to be changed, no wifi in the room.we have to go downstairs to use it and the bathroom stinked.we had to ask for it to be cleaned..overall bad experience..

The room was spacious but not very clean.Staff are a little slow...bathroom was very very basic and small.overall not worth for a 3 star hotel

The place is very dirty & stained.Pillows were stained & had no cover. Bath room had rusted shower head & door lock was broken and could not be closed. Sofa upholstery was stained & dirty. Carpet in lobby and public places looked never cleaned.Floor door latch could not closed from inside at night. Bed sheet did not look freshly changed.
