After finding ourselves unexpectedly homeless while our dream house got closer to completion, Mandy and I were facing a long stretch of temporary living. We needed a place that felt more like "home" than a mere hotel room, a place where we could settle in, establish a routine, and maintain some semblance of normalcy. Thankfully, we stumbled upon Extended Stay America on Churchland Blvd., and it turned out to be the perfect haven for our extended staycation (from November 2023 to present!). From the moment we stepped in, the friendly and courteous staff made us feel welcome. They readily helped us navigate the check-in process and answered all our questions with a smile. Throughout our stay, the entire team continued to impress us with their professionalism and genuine helpfulness. Whether it was a forgotten room key, a late-night laundry question, or a simple request for extra towels, they consistently went above and beyond to accommodate us. The facility itself was spotless! The housekeeping staff deserves a standing ovation for maintaining the sparkling clean hallways, comfortable common areas, and our cozy suite. Speaking of the suite, it was the perfect size for our temporary life. The kitchenette proved to be a lifesaver, allowing us to whip up some quick meals instead of dining out every night. We also deeply appreciated the spacious living area, where we could unwind after a long day and enjoy movie nights with Mandy. And how could I forget the breakfast? Every morning, a delicious spread awaited us - fresh pastries like those mouthwatering blueberry and chocolate chip muffins, steaming hot coffee (the Colombian blend was my personal favorite!), and other breakfast staples. It was a delightful way to start our day, fueling us up for our house-hunting adventures or Mandy's remote work sessions. But what truly solidified Extended Stay America on Churchland Blvd. as the best hotel in the Portsmouth/Chesapeake area was the manager, [Manager's Name]. We encountered a couple of minor hiccups during our stay, and each time, [Manager's Name] stepped in with professionalism and swiftness. Their solutions were thoughtful and effective, ensuring our temporary digs remained a stress-free sanctuary. Looking back, our extended stay at Extended Stay America on Churchland Blvd. wasn't just about a roof over our heads. It was about finding a supportive and welcoming community during a transitional time. The friendly staff, the constantly clean environment, the convenient amenities, and the delicious breakfast all played a part in making it a truly positive experience. If you ever find yourself needing a temporary home in the Portsmouth/Chesapeake area, look no further than this gem. We give it our highest recommendation! P.S. Mandy can't stop raving about the Colombian coffee, by the way. They might want to consider selling bags by the front desk!
