Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was far below my expectations. This was the first time I encountered a hotel under renovation without mention of it on the app or the hotel’s website. This omission felt very deceptive. Upon arrival, I found my room dark and dirty, with a toxic smell coming from the vents as if something was dead in the walls. Additionally, the pool was closed during one of the hottest weekends in June, and the hotel was short-staffed. As I had prepaid for the room, I felt confined to the property and unable to find alternate accommodations at such short notice. When I shared my concerns with the staff, they were responsive to the extent they could be. They provided new linens and gave me a vacuum to clean the room myself, as no housekeeping staff were available. The front desk manager was helpful and listened to my concerns, initially offering points as compensation. However, I did not find this sufficient given the extent of the issues I encountered. He later discounted the room. As a loyal Marriott guest, I believe it is essential to disclose renovations to avoid such disappointing experiences. Had I known, I would have chosen a different hotel. Also, I reached out to the persons I was told to be the general manager, and to date, I have not gotten a response. This treatment is concerning, understanding this particular hotel is owned and operated independently.
