Imperial Mountain Resort Chengde

Very Classical Chinese palace style hotel. Very clean and elegant facilities with garden and deers in the back yard.  Great location next to the Mountain Resort main entrance. Very friendly staff with good service. Definitely recommended.

Authentic and Unforgettable Stay! Imperial Mountain Resort in Chengde, located inside the famous 避暑山庄, is a hidden gem. The hotel is beautifully traditional, with a peaceful garden where even deer roam freely—such a magical touch! What made our experience truly special was our amazing resort in house tour guide, 卜金艳. She was not only beautiful and kind, but incredibly knowledgeable about Chengde’s history. She tailored our itinerary to suit our pace, recommended the freshest local fruits, and took us to enjoy authentic Manchurian cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a meaningful and immersive stay in Chengde!

Everything are good, except the room is stuffy because the air-conditioning will be turn off in the middle of the night, and cannot turn on during the day unless you inform the frontdesk. Instead of staying for 5 nights, I checked out after the second night.

Not sure what it would really be like, but it was better than imagined in every possible way! Amazing location within the mountain resort walls, lovely old buildings and garden, spacious room full of amenities and details, great bed, super friendly staff with good English and best of all the top restaurant with its imperial dishes and much more, plus a great breakfast buffet! Very close to the resort and an easy Didi trip to the fantastic temples. Definitely the most beautiful hotel of our trip, thanks!

This historic hotel which is part of the Imperial Mountain Resort is excellent. My family with two small kids loved the stay. It is super central right next to the entrance to the historic mountain resort. The staff is super attentive. The restaurant offers very good food. The room/suite we had was very spacious, modern and well-equipped. I hope we will make it again to come to Chengde because there is so much more to see - we hope to stay then in this hotel again.

This is a very charming hotel, with beautiful architecture. The location is also great, next to the Imperial Gardens, and itself embedded in a nice garden complex, featuring also some animals. The room was clean, but I found our room a bit on the small side, with only one night stand for a double bed, while we could also not really navigate from one side of the bed as a chair and the desk obstructed the way. I saw however other rooms which were bigger. We arrived during a hurricane, so most other clients had canceled, and hotel staff was limited. The reception staff was however very friendly, trying to help us out as much as possible. The weather was very cold, but an extra heater was provided and heated up the room nicely. The restaurant continued delivering dinner and breakfast during the hurricane. BF the first 2 mornings was sufficient, although a bit limited, while we had problems communicating with the staff available at that time, but the 3th morning, when more clients arrived, they set up a buffet, which had a nice variety of dishes. Dinner was very good.
