Premier Inn Chelmsford (Boreham)

We had a family room which had an unpleasant smell. Unfortunately due to it being evening and low staff they could not adjust it. My sister was staying in another room and asked for beds to be adjusted from double to twin but was told it wasn't possible.

Great premier. On Reception Harry was very helpful. The breakfast was spectacular i asked for vegetarian sausages and bacon. Cooked to perfection. Jasmine and Jo gave incredible service and warm greeting. We felt loved up and all our needs were catered for. It great to receive such a high level of personal service. Definitely coming back here!

After purchasing the Internet from the website, I can’t access any Internet from my phone or my computer. I contacted reception and asked for help. They said that due to the local area Internet is not available. I asked for a refund and they said that was not possible . The staff are fine . They are quite nice. But I was not impressed with a staff member and a dining room encourage me to give her five star review . I was asked repeatedly to do this on both times I had breakfast. She wrote down her name and the name of the colleague , and I felt pressured to do this. Don’t get me wrong, she’s nice . But she should not be doing that . For me to leave should be my choice . And I should not be told to be delivering a five star review . The dining area was clean The staff were welcoming . And the food was okay, I suppose . That’s what you would expect. The food met the regular Premier Inn standard, you couldn’t tell whether you were in Chelmsford or Nottingham or somewhere else. So it was average food, but you don’t expect anything else. And that’s fine. The room was good. The biggest problem for me with no Internet , and no refund. Finally, there was a small issue with the payment terminal for breakfast on the first day , however the staff waived the fee, and allowed me to eat on the house based on the fact they couldn’t accept payment. I thought that was generous. My low rating based on the lack of Internet and the lack of a refund .

The welcome we got from Dom on reception was very warm and efficient. The rooms however do need a little tidying up. The showers don’t have screens only curtains and water can go everywhere if not careful. Jasmine at breakfast was exceptional and the food freshly cooked and delicious.

Absolutely fantastic stay. The room was lovely and clean. Very soft bed definitely value for money. At Boreham, the night receptionist was Harry... what a wonderful, helpful, caring young man. An absolute credit to the company. I will definitely stay again as we're were travelling in and out of London while attending hospital appointments.

We have stayed in a room at Boreham, cleaned by SABI Firstly the room was very dusty, the tray for the tea and coffee, glasses very scratched, no toilet paper, shower gel had more water than shower gel in it. Cups looked like they had been used, I suggest this maid should be retrained!!
