My husband joined me on a business trip, and we were extremely impressed with The Great George. The accommodations were beyond a typical boutique hotel. From cleanliness to heated washroom floors, everything exceeded expectations. Most importantly, the service and hospitality was five star! Sam at the front desk was professional, helpful, friendly, and caring. He went out of his way to make our experience one of the best in years of travel. My husband was with me because it was our anniversary, and Sam made sure it was special. Thank you to all at The Great George!! We are already spreading the word and plan to return soon.

We loved our stay here for 1 night. The hotel management was very kind in changing our room to accommodate my wife’s mobility issues. We loved the location near the waterfront and shops, the free happy hour , free parking and free breakfast. This is an EXTREMELY well run boutique hotel. We loved room 401 in the main building with a separate seating area. This was the best hotel we stayed at over our 2 week Maritime visit.

We’re currently touring eastern Canada from the UK and have stayed in so many lovely hotels so far, but this one tops them all. It was hot when we arrived and we asked for an upgrade from a standard room to a room with a balcony. We were a little early to check in and rooms weren’t ready but I was advised there was a room free and to come back at 3 and it would be sorted. We returned at 3 but sadly whilst promised, the upgraded room had been allocated to someone else. But … not to despair, the amazing manager Emily not only found us an upgrade with a balcony but to a house (The Perkins House) and amazingly without any additional charge given the earlier promise This was an amazing upgrade for free and the best accommodation across the 3 weeks in Canada … and the hotel was in the heat of everything within walking distance with free parking too. All I can say is wow and wow again - still pinching myself at the kindness which I rewarded with a huge tip on departure for the team. Thank you for making our stay with you so wonderful and memorable If you are passing it planning to stay in Charlottetown this is the only place you should consider

After an initial problem over booking date (they had us booked in for June 2025!) we were upgraded to a suite for all 3 nights. We were kept waiting without explanation for some time, but this was probably the only negative point of our stay. The room was lovely and the hotel is very well located for the historic part of town as well as getting out and about across the island. Breakfast was excellent and probably the best during our 3.5 week stay across Atlantic Canada. Superb service - efficient and friendly, and the food selection was fantastic. Highly recommended

If you enjoy the finer things in life then you will love The Great George! My room was beautiful with a great view. The staff are wonderful and so accommodating. I will always stay there and keep recommending everyone I know to visit. There is also a beautiful church just across the street

We stayed at The Great George Hotel which is a fabulous hotel and had a wonderful room. The bed was so comfortable! The staff is all about customer service. Free breakfast , tea and coffee free 24 hours, free cookies after 3pm and happy hour between 5-6. First drink free.Had a laundry room and soap was free.! I've travelled the world and this hotel is now in my top 5.

I stayed with friends at the Harris House, that is part of The Great George. Let me start by saying that just based on staying at the Harris House, I am very confused how this is a 5 star hotel. It is just a run down house, that they added temporary A/C units to. I would rate the rooms/overall house condition 1 to 2 stars. They really should renovate the entire place. The toilet was already broken when we checked in. It took them over 2.5 days to finally put a temporary fix on the toilet. So for 2.5 days, every time we flushed the toilet, we had to reach into the bowl to manually close the valve and that toilet tank was disgusting to look at and reach into. The wifi barely works in the 3 upstairs bedrooms (constantly disconnects), and the kitchen really only comes with plates and cups, and not really anything to cook with. When we ran out of toilet paper, it took more than 4 hours for somebody to show up with toilet paper. Imagine if we actually ran out while on the toilet!!! Oh and the only phone in the house could never connect to the front desk. It normally wouldn't be a problem except for that I am traveling internationally and only purchased an esim...so every time I needed something, I needed to walk to the main hotel building. Even after informing multiple people about the broken phone, it was never fixed during my 3 night stay. After complaining many times about the various issues, Management came up with solutions that we weren't happy about. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. There are significantly cheaper accommodations in Charlottetown with better breakfast and better service. Also, if you have trouble with stairs, DO NOT book this house. The stairs are super small and I could see people injuring themselves on them.

Check in was smooth but we never received a pre check in email as promised when the room was booked. Our room was lovely. However, the elevator was beside us and the noise was horrible throughout the night. In the early morning…around 7 am…soft classical music started playing. You could hear it from inside and outside the building. No way to “turn it off”. Breakfast was very good. The staff were excellent. The morning serenade, after a sleepless night, is enough to make me not want to book here again. The hotel is gorgeous. Top notch staff and an excellent location.
