The Dunlin, Auberge Collection

THIS PLACE!!! The aesthetic was enough for me. Everyone here has been great! So friendly and helpful. Our favorite part was being able to take out the fun cars they have for guests and explore the area, especially Charleston. One of the managers, Megan is such a plus for this place! She’s great!

Wonderful and professional staff! Each person excelled in their work and was attentive to our stay. They made us feel welcomed and appreciated. The property is beautifully decorated and thoughtfully curated. We have already highly recommended The Dunlin to several friends. We made wonderful and unexpected memories during our trip and stay there. Our youngest daughter loved Camp Dunby and the staff. What a clever and perfect mascot (the cutest rattan puppy)! Meals were thoughtfully prepared and carefully presented. We loved the nightly 'smores option, turn down services, food, drinks, views, daily activities, and bike rides. The farms were also unique and a lot of fun and learning. The staff on the farms are experts and take great pride in their work. The playground was so well done! Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed the zip line and playground equipment. It's all in the details and the Dunlin has details down. We also appreciate the complimentary car service on the one night we went to dinner. There is little need to leave the property but it was a great option if you like!

The team at the Dunlin was so thoughtful in making our wedding night special! Ally even wrote us a handwritten card congratulating us on our wedding! It was a beautiful facility kept on top notch condition. Their attention to detail was incredible. We had dinner at Linnette’s the night before the wedding and breakfast there the next morning. It was perfect! Will be coming back!

The hotel was beautiful! They needed more staff. When I checked in there was a long wait to get checked in. They had two desk to check guest in. When we called for room service no one answered the phone. I waited 20 mins then tried again still no answer. Finally I got connected to the front desk. The hotel is beautiful. However they definitely need more staffing to accommodate the size of the facility.

Missing the mark Pros: Rooms and grounds are beautiful, new and spacious. You truly feel like you’ve been transported when you arrive. The screened in porches are a very nice touch. Beds are very comfortable. The service by the pool was quick and they were very attentive. Spa staff also very friendly. Cons: For an Auberge and for the type of experience you expect from this caliber of property - they are seriously missing the mark. Linettes: The service was subpar. I’m not sure if it was the waiters experience but both attentiveness and brevity were unacceptable for the money you are paying to dine. The options are extremely limited for a property that is so isolated and the food was not very good. Things we did enjoy were the bread and crab dip. Everything else was not worth the price. Filet was dry and the broccoli was room temperature when it arrived. Service: when checking out we called the front desk several times on both the hotel landline and cell - no one picked up. We wanted help with our bags since our room was the last building and third floor (no elevator). I texted the concierge - they responded after 10 minutes and no one showed up. After 30 minutes we finally got thru to someone to send a bellman. Not being able to get in touch with staff is a HUGE flaw for this type of resort and did not leave a great last impression. I am trying to fair balance my review but the cons are big ones especially when experiencing high end properties around the world.
