Staindrop Lodge Hotel

Was pleasantly surprised how modernised this hotel was. Recently refurbished , this hotel is lovely as is the staff . My room was modern and bright and the bath was a whirlpool . Food was excellent and moderately priced . Service was spot on . Will definitely stay again

We had the pleasure of staying at this newly refurbished hotel for 3 nights with my family, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the lovely staff — everyone from the front desk to the chef and bar team went out of their way to make our stay special. The refurbishment has been done to a high standard, and the hotel feels fresh, modern, and very comfortable. Our room was spotless and spacious, perfect for a family, with all the amenities we needed. One of the real highlights was the service. The chef prepared delicious breakfast (try the smashed avocado, it's lovely) with care, and the bar staff were always friendly and accommodating — nothing was ever too much trouble. The location is fantastic, making it the perfect base for exploring the stunning Peak District. We enjoyed several days of hiking and sightseeing, and it was always nice to return to such a welcoming place at the end of the day. For families, this hotel is ideal. There’s a lovely park nearby that the kids enjoyed, and with supermarkets just a short walk away, everything you might need is close at hand. All in all, we had a truly memorable stay and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

After seeing previous reviews I was a bit sceptical about the stay. We spent 3 nights family of 4 and stayed in a family room. The beds seemed new and were big!! Breakfast was great with quite a few options, Our kids didnt complain! Location was good being a stone throw away from the peal district and the local shopping centre. Bar staff were nice and drinks were a reasonable price! I would definitly stay here again.

Firstly. Very friendly staff and extremely quiet for a nights sleep. Hotel is run down , no restaurant, rooms not cleaned daily. I believe I was the only guest. Says it all really. It looks as if this property is being renovated on a very small budget.

Would not recommend, the website states that they have a restaurant but when checking in and enquiring about an evening meal was told they only do breakfast. Breakfast service and quality not good, on the second morning went out for breakfast in a local pub, it was cheaper and much better quality and service. Bed not made and room not cleaned after first night's stay
