Once the crab starts munching on the chicken, the rope is slowly pulled up and a net is used to get the critter. All supplies for are in the cottage except the chicken. Other guests have fished, boated and hunted, which is plentiful during the right season. Some say that the Deal Island Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is the mecca of duck hunting in the winter! So, use it as a hunting lodge and bring home the fowl. At dusk, take a walk to the beach on the other side of the bridge which is only 1 block away and watch the sun set into the bay as if you were sitting in Key West, Florida, but without the crowds. Keep an eye out for the many bird species that the Deal Island Wildlife Management area is known for. Great Blue Herons, Canada Geese, unique ducks, gulls and more. Salisbury and Crisfield, MD less than half an hour. Catch the summer passenger ferry to historic and unique Smith Island from Crisfield. Smith Island is a community so long isolated from the mainland that the residents are known for still speaking in a form of Elizabethan English dating back to the 1600s. It is a unique place to experience. The standard bedding arrangement includes a very large master bedroom with a queen bed and master bathroom. The smaller 2nd bedroom has a bunk with a full on the bottom and twin on the top. If you have a larger party, there is a 3rd closed off bedroom available with 2 foldout cots. There is also a queen size air mattress available which can fit in the master bedroom comfortably. All sheets, pillows, towels, pots, pans, dishes, propane grill and cleaning are included in the price! This cottage has central air conditioning and heat.
