We came as a couple for two nights. Had a room in The Manoir … okay. Very traditional furnishings, four post bed, etc. air conditioning not very effective, bathroom fine. We ate in the Bistro the first night. The food and the service were good, but we were plagued by flies. At one point I counted five which had settled on my husband. The breakfast room has exactly the same layout as for dinner in the Michelin star restaurant. The room is very plain. All the tables and clients face in the same direction. It seemed as if I was lined up to take part in an exam. Breakfast was ok. I ordered English breakfast tea and when it arrived, left it for a while to brew, only to discover when I came to pour it out that it was plain water and I was supposed to find my own teabag in the buffet area. Hot items, which were freshly brought out as I arrived were cold. Dinner was good…. same problem with flies which is very offputting. Altogether a disappointment and we won’t return.
