The Cottontail (#18) is a cozy, rustic 2 bedroom cabin that offers all of the comforts and features of home. We are set here under the pine trees in the Adirondack Mountains, on the west side of Lake George, situated on the family mini-resort known as the Adirondack Diamond Point Lodge. Complete with full kitchen, full bathroom, living room, dining area, enclosed sitting porch, private bonfire pit, picnic table, charcoal BBQ grill, flat screen TV, and Free WiFi. Each tent has a kitchenette in the Lodge. There is a sweet new Bath House. Enjoy wood-fired pizza and our new all natural wood hot tub. Get fresh eggs from our henhouse. 40 acres of meadows, woods, pond, streams and trails. Nightly bonfires, star gazing, a nearby lake and rafting in the Hudson River below. We have four glamping tents, Glamp Richard, Glamp Suzanne, Glamp Bernice and Glamp Thomas which are spaciously set apart for privacy yet an easy walk to the Bath House and the Lodge where each glamping tent has its own kitchenette. The tents have a “fly” over them so they stay remarkably cool during the day and completely waterproof. At night, zip up the canvas windows and doors, and stay cozy under handmade feather quilts. The new Bath House has a women’s side with two toilets, a shower and double vanity with glass vessel sinks; ditto for the men’s side. Built within a small post and beam temple-like structure with gorgeous views of the mountains beyond and wildflowers below, our spa tub is a wonderful way to relax during your stay. $25 for an hour’s retreat of happiness. Most nights in the summer, we offer wood fired pizza. Here’s how it works. We make and provide the dough, and guests bring their own toppings. We fire up the wood-fired pizza in the late afternoon. By six, the wood fire has died down and the oven is about 800 degrees. Starting at 6:30 and ending at 7:00, guests come to the pizza pavilion with their toppings and we help them cook their pizzas. Because the oven is so hot, the pizzas cook in about three minutes. Lots of fun! And if you don't have toppings, we have plenty! At dusk, we get the bonfire going so guests can relax in hand-built Adirondack chairs to watch the fire and the stars. There is no “light pollution” so it is an amazing experience to see thousands of stars, night clouds, moonscapes. Enjoy getting your breakfast eggs from the henhouse. Our flock of chickens and ducks are fun to watch as they free range all over the property. The ducklings enjoy it when there is fresh water run into their little swimming pool --- they are so joyous when they’re in water. The ducks are sweet but shy away from people (oh no! humans!). Unlike the chickens that wander all day and come back together to the coop only to sleep, the ducks are co-dependent and stick together all the time; if one duck is separated, they all quack until they get back together. So yes, country life can be noisy with the chickens cackling and the ducks quacking! And of course there is lab dog Bella who enjoys visiting all our guests. Be careful coming down the driveway because she sometimes leaps unexpectedly in front of cars all goofy and happy. Our cabins are set up for visiting dogs, but unfortunately we cannot host dogs in the tents. SAUNA: Gorgeous cedar sauna just built this year! The lake is three miles down the winding road …13th Lake it is called and it is just beautiful. Totally natural and quiet with no sign of civilization on its shores. The Hudson River is at the bottom of our mountain; clear beautiful water; you go tubing or rafting with the various rafting companies located right nearby. The town of North Creek is five miles away off the main Route 28 road but it’s easy to miss so look for the 3 or 4 signs that mark the entrance to “town”. North Creek is a scenic little town with some great restaurants, a grocery store, liquor store, some shopping places. Another great experience is nearby Garnet Hill Lodge, an historic lodge offering lunches and dinners … beautiful property, amazing views, great food. It’s located right up the road in North River. A modest living room and wall mounted TV completes the right side. The kitchen is set in the middle and accessible from both sides. It is a complete work space with a small table. Since we are seasonal cabin, most Guests enjoy their meals outside on the deck to take advantage of the sun and scenery. Please note that there is no vehicular access, and that walking up and down the trail is required. Those with mobility challenges may find this difficult. Welcome to our cute cottage, just a 2 minute walk to a beautiful small community lakefront. Our private Adirondack themed mini-golf course is a really unique feature. The house is comfortable and rustic and the community is friendly and picturesque. There is a wood stove and an outdoor fire pit. This place feels like a summer camp, with amazing neighbors and an inn/tavern/restaurant just steps away. The playground adjacent to the mini-golf course is also yours.The lake is clean and serene, with a little island in the middle. The mini-golf course is amazing and you have it all to yourself. The walk to the lake is a very short and somewhat steep path through the woods. There are a couple of freestanding vented AC units, baseboard heat, and a Fisher wood stove for temperature control. The internet is good but phone service is hit or miss. You will have no phone service for 20 minutes before approaching the property, so make sure you have the directions on hand. There is a dresser in the master bedroom on the main floor, with a full bath adjacent. Upstairs there is a loft with two twin beds, a half-bath, and a separate queen bedroom with a closet. The tavern can sometimes get a little loud on weekend nights but closing the windows takes care of it. GOLF CARTS: We have golf carts to rent! Our property stretches over 40 acres. While many guests enjoy exploring our property on foot, others prefer to tour in one of our pretty golf carts. Children as young as 14 may drive them with an adult — a wonderful first time driving experience. Limited availability. Totally natural and quiet with no sign of civilization on its shores. The Hudson River is at the bottom of our mountain; clear beautiful water; you go tubing or rafting with the various rafting companies located right nearby. The town of North Creek is five miles away off the main Route 28 road but it’s easy to miss so look for the 3 or 4 signs that mark the entrance to “town”. North Creek is a scenic little town with some great restaurants, a grocery store, liquor store, some shopping places and a scenic train called the Saratoga/North Creek Railroad which takes folks in antique train cars along the Hudson River. Another great experience is nearby Garnet Hill Lodge, an historic lodge offering lunches and dinners … beautiful property, amazing views, great food. It’s located right up the road in North River.
