I’m an Artisan Log Cabin perched high above the Stilliguamish River. You can find me hiding in the morning shadow of Mt. Pilchuck and always with a watchful eye on the river valley below. As you drive past my gate and enter the 10+ acre property, you’ll be greeted and surrounded by nature and wildlife on every side. Upon crossing my threshold, you will immediately notice that many moons ago each and every log was meticulously selected, cut, hand-scraped and placed with precision high above the river’s edge. My view from each and every window has your ‘serenity now’ in mind! Inside my walls, I’m tastefully decorated with stuff of old and new, but I’d much rather draw your attention to the beauty that’s all around me. Sometimes you just need to get away. To rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit, and take a break from society. A cozy, romantic log cabin tucked far away in the forest is perfect for this. No people around, only peace and nature. The forest is not merely an expression or representation of sacredness, nor a place to invoke the sacred; the forest is sacredness itself. It’s a living cathedral! Come and experience this sacredness at the River Ranch. Rest, relax and rejuvenate!Inside, you’ll have over 2000 square feet to unwind. Outside, you’ll have a nature sanctuary to engulf you. Cozy up to the wood burning stove with a good book. Soak in the hot tub outside or the jacuzzi bath tub for 2 and watch the hummingbirds right outside. Make s’mores while star gazing. Nap on the handmade swing and listen to the babbling brook that runs along the entire property. Watch eagles catch fish in the Stilly River below. Feed the squirrels, birds and chipmunks on the back deck. Binge watch a show on Netflix or Amazon video on one of the 3 flat screen TVs. Sit on the front porch and watch the deer feed on an apple tree. Cook a meal in the fully equipped kitchen. Reconnect with your partner over a fun board game. Your possibilities are endless at the River Ranch. Guests have access to everything inside the cabin except the master closet. Guests are not allowed to venture off into any areas of the property with critical slope. **Please note, as this is our personal residence and due to medical reasons, we have a service animal exemption and cannot accept service animals or emotional support animals of any kind. This tiny home provides you all the essential amenities to make your stay comfortable and allow you to explore Washington and meet family and friends.Our goal is to provide an affordable accommodation option to our guests. Travel need not break the bank!With your own private entrance and a shared massive yard, this guest suite provides a bedroom (full sized bed), a private bathroom and a full kitchen stocked with all the appliances and dishes you could need. Parks, restaurants, grocery stores, ferries, public transport nearby make this an excellent location.Plenty of free parking right outside our house. If needed we can allow use of our driveway as well for loading and unloading.The Space:This is a ~200 square feet unit. We have strived to provide our guests with every amenity they could need for day to day living. A large yard to enjoy the fresh air. Kitchen stocked with all the utensils and basic spices, appliances including microwave, two burner stovetop, oven, mini fridge with freezer, coffee maker, toaster, blender etc.Bathroom has toiletries and bathing supplies including a hair dryer.Fast Xfinity wireless internet and air conditioning and heating will make your stay comfortable.If by any chance you are missing something, just ask us (we live in the main house on the property) and will most likely be able to provide it.This neighborhood is very safe with proximity to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Ballinger Lake and Urban Trail near our property are excellent for morning and evening walks. Downtown Seattle is an 18 mins drive. There is also a bus which goes there from right in front of our house but requires a transfer. Beautiful downtown Edmonds is a short drive away with lots of restaurants and activities.Guest accessGuest suite is entirely yours. Your Cascade Cabin is your place to kick up your feet, enjoy a whiskey by the fire, and relax after a day of adventuring in the mountains or river. This property is a bit off grid - set in the woods, creating a remote feel but is located in a gated residential community so a neighbor is just a shout away!This sustainable cabin is a 385 sqft slice of paradise! It was built in 2019 with love which is evident in all of the details! It is a bit off grid but has most of the amenities that you're used to. Please read through the details to make sure it's a good fit for you. The views make this cabin a treat. Choose between Mount Index, the Skykomish River, or the beautiful green forest surrounding the property.The cabin is a bit off grid with modern amenities. Please read through the information below to make sure this is the right stay for you!Kitchen - A fully stocked kitchen to prepare meals or even a frozen pizza. We try to keep the basic's stocked; salt, pepper, cooking oil. There is an induction stove top, small oven, and slow cooker. There's also a coffee grinder and french press to make your morning coffee. We supply cast iron cookware. If you bring your own cookware, be sure it’s induction compatible.Living area - Relax and enjoy a book on the super comfy couch. There is also a TV with cable and a DVD player! We have a solid collection of DVDs ready for you. Unfortunately you won't be able to stream Netflix so bust out those old DVDs for the weekend.Internet - There is a very basic satellite internet that powers wifi, however, it is extremely slow and not reliable (1-2Mbps). You should be able to receive wifi calls, send texts, and do some light browsing, but it is not fast enough to stream. Cell service is also very spotty. Verizon gets about 1 bar and other carriers are even less.Loft Bedroom - Please note that the stairs to the loft are very steep. More ladder like. There is a queen sized bed so you'll be super comfy and cozy! Bathroom - The bathroom is equipped with an incinerating toilet and a small shower. There is no sink in the bathroom but there is one right out the door in the kitchen! There are instructions for the toilet in the bathroom and welcome binder but it's quite simple to use. The showers are short since there is only a very small hot water heater but quite a luxury for a cabin.Heating / Cooling - The summers in the Sky Valley are generally nice and cool. Open up the windows and enjoy the cool breeze. If it gets cold or you're staying in the winter, there is an electric wall heater and also a wood burning stove. Please don't use the wood stove in the summer or excessively. The cabin is very air tight so it doesn't take much to warm it up. Wood for fires - the wood stove is available for your enjoyment. We provide wood for indoor use, especially for very cold visits or should the power go out! The indoor wood stove fits 10 - 12 inch pieces of wood. Fire pit - Please check whether a burn ban is in effect before using the fire pit. Sauna - We have an Almost Heaven Salem 2-Person Sauna ready for you to enjoy! This sauna can be used as a wet or dry sauna.Winter- If you are coming to the cabin in winter (November - April) you should be prepared for snow. It doesn’t snow all the time but it’s not uncommon to get a 10”-15” snow fall. The cabin is 3 miles off of Hwy 2 down a dirt road that is not always plowed. A 4x4 or AWD vehicle may be required to reach the cabin. Please check the weather before your visit. (We have had many positive comments on how comfortable the bed is.) A big screen TV & views of the lake out of the bedroom windows as well. To the Left is the eating bar, & open feel Kitchen that offers a drip / pod coffee machine, microwave, small oven / stove, air-fryer & full-size refrigerator w/ice maker. To the right of the Kitchen area is the Living room with a queen size Hide-a Bed with “Foam Topper”. If Mother Nature keeps you inside, you still have the fantastic view, along with a cozy propane fired fireplace, board games, & a large screen smart tv in the living room with 5.1 theater surround sound. YouTube, & several other free stations are provided. Bring your streaming password and enjoy your favorite station. The bedroom TV is also a large screen smart TV with Roku and several other stations. There is no lag time with our 250Mbps High speed internet. If you want to bring your Fishing / Ski boat, there is ample room to park your trailer & Moore your boat at the finger per right outside your door. This lake allows year around fishing, is stocked, & is well renowned for its Bass fishing. In fact, there are Bass tournaments held here often. It is also a great recreational lake in the summer with waterskiing, wakeboarding, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding… . Just down the road, there is a very easy to use boat launch @ Weinberg County Park. If you want to get out & explore a little.... Kayak Point on the Puget Sound is just a 10-minute drive West.
