Situated in scenic Park County, this home is surrounded by pine trees and classic Colorado flowers and shrubs with views of Sheep Mountain and Sacramento Creek. A true outdoor recreation paradise, you can mountain bike, explore on ATVs or hit the hiking trails, including the nearby Pennsylvania Mountain Trailhead. Here you will find beaver ponds and meadows while still being just off of Highway 9 and U.S. Route 285, the main roadways in the area that can connect you to Breckenridge, just 33 minutes away, or back to Denver and beyond.Getting Around:This home is just minutes from Fairplay, where you can explore Front Street and the shops and eateries in this charming town or explore the historic mining sites. Just off of Highway 9, the main artery in the area connecting you to Breckenridge and beyond, you are 20 minutes from Montgomery Reservoir and a mere 33 minutes from Breckenridge, with its well-known ski resort and Main Street. Beautifully crafted custom log cabin immerses you into the western mountain comfort and hospitality of the rocky mountains. You'll have access to the entire cabin and property that has all of the amenities for your stay of the Colorado high country. The cabin is wonderfully settled overlooking the Sacramento Creek and Mt Sherman an 14,000 ft peak. Gemini peak namesake of our cabin, is an 13,920 ft peak overlooking the valley and cabin. We have an awesome deck with western views of Gemini Peak and Mt Sherman is a great way to watch the sunset over the mountain range. Comfortable deck furniture with propane fire pit, bbq, and deck lights create a great gathering spot to tell stories of the day. We have a well appointed kitchen featuring granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, kitchen bar top, and dinning room table that seats 6 for all you meal and dinning activities. Our living room is centered around a wood stove that warms the bones and takes the chill off of the cool mountain evenings. Our family room on the lower level invites you with a large sectional couch TV with roku so you can use your streaming accounts for your TV entertainment. Family room also has foosball table, books, games, and a bar for a chill and relax or play around and unwind.we have a Pelton bike that is available to use and also a dedicated work space in the loft for those that would like to work during your stay.Sleeping arrangement include 3 bedrooms, 1 at each level of the cabin. Top floor has the primary bedroom with en suite bathroom, balcony, and king bed. Main level has a queen bed for easy access and closest to all of our cabins amenities and has our bathroom with clawfoot tub just across the hall. Once you turn into the community you will need to drive roughly about 5 miles to the house. For the first mile, there is paved road, following that is an easy 4 miles drive on grated dirt roads. During the winter months, there is a plow for the main road. Although this is the case, it is still recommended that you have AWD or a 4x4 vehicle as the snow can accumulate quite high at time.The driveway is plowed and maintained in the event of snow. The perfect place to spend a cozy day by the wood fire, or establish basecamp for mountain adventures. The house features a large high ceiling living room with views out to the mountains beyond, as well as custom kitchen with modern appliances and a vintage AGA stove. Relax and re-charge in the 3 bedrooms, each with comfortable mattresses and clean white sheets. The primary suite offers an en-suite bathroom with radiant floor heating and a clawfoot tub/shower.This is custom-built log cabin with 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a chef's kitchen with vintage AGA stove. Outside of the living room is a covered front porch with adirondack chairs overlooking a fenced in back yard with aspen trees and an incredible view of the mountains and creek. The downstairs floors are all equipped with radiant heat.Upstairs is a large primary suite with vaulted ceilings and a king bed. There is a on-suite full bathroom with vintage clawfoot tub + shower, radiant heat, and views out to the creek which meanders through the property.Things to note:Please be aware that this cabin is at 10,500 feet of elevation, higher even than Breckenridge (9,728). As such, we advise doing some research ahead of time on how to best acclimate to high elevation, especially if you are coming from lower elevation. Staying hydrated is key, especially if you plan to be active. Know your limits: The Rocky mountains are one of the greatest playgrounds in the country, and the house awaits with comfortable beds and thoughtfully designed amenities to rest and recharge.Cell service is not great in the mountains. We have starlink internet with high speed connection (80 - 100 Mbps).The creek by the house is yours to use, but swim at your own risk. These are also heaters and n addition to the baseboard & wall heaters.Staircase: Embrace the unique charm of our spiral staircase leading to the upper rooms. Larger checked luggage might face challenges on these snug stairs. The staircase is not recommended for small children either.Bugs: We have our home professionally managed to control pests. However, on a rare occasion, we have insects make it past the barriers set by the pest control into the cabin. If you are extremely bothered by bugs, definitely reconsider booking any remote cabin in Colorado (but check out our other rentals!).Mud Season & Winter Driving: Early spring runoff may make our road muddy. Accessible year-round, our cabin recommends AWD/4WD with good tire tread in snowy months (Nov-Apr).Outdoor Fires: Due to wildfires, please refrain from using any ember-producing equipment.Water Source: Enjoy safe drinking water from our 283ft deep well. Conserve water to avoid potential well dryness. Internet/Phone ReceptionWe have the fastest internet our location allows, which is typically plenty of bandwidth to support streaming and working from home. But with that said, the bandwidth can vary a bit which unfortunately is out of our control. We have never had an issue streaming though. Cell service varies by carrier. AT&T is by far the strongest (5G) but Verizon does work too. Winter ConditionsWinter in the Rockies last a bit longer and the weather can change very quickly. We do require guests to have a FWD or AWD vehicle that can handle snow Oct-May and suggest it all other times as well. The roads leading to the cabin are paved and plowed until about 100 ft before the cabin. We do our best to keep our driveway clear of snow, but it's not always possible. We do not provide refunds for cancellation due to weather and driving conditions. Light shoveling of the path leading up to the home may be required including the patio during winter months. FiresCharcoal grills and outdoor wood fires are ALWAYS strictly prohibited. Any evidence of such will result in a large fine and possible jail time. We have provided an outdoor gas grill and firepit for your use. The firewood is only to be burned indoors inside the sealed wood fired stove. Eco-FriendlyWe want to preserve the planet and all the beautiful spots in the world just like this so we do our best to have eco-friendly practices whenever possible. Currently we do the following to support this:◮ Minimum 2 night stay (less laundry = less water usage)◮ Cabin powered solely by renewable electricity sources◮ Only eco-friendly cleaners and toiletries are used. ◮ We recycle and ask that you do as well.Check OutWe don't require much of our guests but we do ask that you complete the following:◮ Bring all trash and recycling down to the cans on the street◮ Load and start the dishwasher◮ DON'T make your beds, it's easier for us :)About pets:No pets allowed.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About customRules:Guests must have FWD or AWD vehicle from October through May and suggested all other times..No outdoor wood fires.
