High clearance, four-wheel drive is necessary for Island Park and Yellowstone's mountain terrain during the winter and snowy weather. During the winter, please check on parking availability a few days prior to your arrival. The beautiful mountain area is noted for its native wildlife with a mama moose actually bedding down right in your yard! Keep an eye out for fox, elk, deer, and a beautiful array of birds and woodland creatures in the adjacent aspen grove. If you listen closely, you may hear the calls of the resident bald eagle and her two chicks. This cabin is definitely a nature lover's peaceful retreat! Please note that there are all sorts of wildlife in the mountains so you may consider bringing your favorite repellent and be sure to do what you can to not bring them into the cabin with you. And, when booking any cabin in the woods, you will expect to encounter insects, spiders and other wildlife. It is part of the experience. Your cabin is not hermetically sealed so bugs, spider, and all sorts of wildlife may enter the property. Please keep the doors closed so they do not enter unexpectedly. A starter supply of coffee service, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner, body wash and dish soap are provided.
