It is well stocked with all of the necessary cookware, appliances and accessories needed to make your meals. The master ensuite is located on the main floor, perfect for anyone who has trouble navigating stairs. It has a king bed with drawer storage underneath, a desk and a tv. In the bathroom there is a dual vanity, a separate toilet room, a walk in shower with dual shower heads, and a full size front load washer and dryer.2nd Floor: The 2 secondary bedrooms are located on the second floor with a hall bathroom that has a shower/tub combo. Both cabins are tucked away to ensure privacy. Please read the entire listing for detailed information on the space, area and instructions for your stay.Bear Cabin is approximately 925 square feet featuring a master bedroom suite with a soaking tub plus an open, yet semi-private loft bedroom. There is a second full bath on the main level with stand-up shower. As you enter the property, Bear Cabin is located at the top of the long gravel driveway. There is a hot tub, outdoor shower (seasonal), fire pit, plenty of seating, a hammock, grill, games, and more!There is a queen bed in the main bedroom as well as a full size bed in the semi-private loft. Bear Cabin sleeps 3-4 comfortably. There is also a futon couch located in the living room area. You will need to bring bedding if you wish to use it.The lower level has central heat and air. However, the loft has a window unit. Cell Service: If you have Verizon, you will have great service, even without WiFi. If you have AT&T, you will need to connect to WiFi in order to have service. Departure instructions will be left on site, inside the guest book. We have made things extra simple to allow for an easy and relaxing checkout. Please make sure to properly dispose of trash upon departure. All trash should be inside a bag. Please no loose trash left inside the outside can as my husband and I have to personally dig it out and that’s not very fun. Even poopy bags needs to be tied up inside a trash bag. Please and thank you!!This cabin is in a rural setting, surrounded by woods , so in spite of our best efforts, critters can be seen at times - ants, squirrels, mice , bears. It is important to not leave food laying around as it will cause an issue with these animals. We would like to share our mountain cabin located on 45 acres of private land and situated on the beautiful Elk River. This river cabin is located in the Cherokee National Forest and will sleep 7 people. And remember the third sleeping room must be accessed by a ship ladder. Kids love this loft sleeping spot! This home is small but very cozy and relaxing. Additionally, you will find all the amenities of modern house including a large smart TV and WiFi, and a full kitchen. The cabin porch deck overlooks the large Elk River. And because you are surrounded by the Cherokee National Forest, abundant wildlife are present in these scenic mountains. The Elk River is a great fishing location that has rainbow trout, smallmouth bass and catfish.During the summer months be sure to bring your swimsuit and enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool river water. Or bring inflatable floats for a river float-down. You can also use our kayak and canoe and take full advantage of this large beautiful river. The riverside deck pavilion has a large BBQ grill and is a great place to picnic. You can also grill on an open fire at the fire ring right next to the pavilion. Or you can just sit by the river and relax to the soothing sound of flowing water. There is a hammock on the pavilion for an afternoon nap. Fishing can be productive close to the river deck. This property is open all year, and every season has its own special allure. During early Summer the fireflies gather at night in this deep mountain location. Autumn brings the color change and the trees are something to see. Local festivals are an attraction in East Tennessee. The month of June boasts the annual Rhododendron Festival in the surrounding mountains. And in September the town of Elizabethton is 35 minutes away and host a Covered Bridge Celebration with live music. October is “Country Thunder” at Bristol Speedway. Unicoi County has an Apple Festival as well as the Fall-O-Dendron festival in Roan Mountain. November is the “Speedway in Lights” event located in Bristol - all are fun things to see in the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee. And don’t forget Winter! Beech Mountain Ski Resort is only a 45 minute drive. Additionally, giant Watauga Lake is only a short drive and offers scenic views as well as fishing, kayaking, sailing and pontoon boat rentals. The Appalachian Trail is also very close to this cabin. The location where the AT trail crosses Watauga Lake is something to see. The property also borders the official boundaries of the Cherokee National Forest and offers a private and somewhat isolated retreat that you will not forget. The 45 land also borders the Heaton branch stream, and walking around the land provides a great two-hour hike. The Hemlock Cabin is part of our 'rustic lodge'. Our lodge is located on the banks of the beautiful Watauga River, halfway between Johnson City and Elizabethton. The lodge was designed to resemble a horse barn and sits on 5 acres with over 600 feet of river frontage and consists of 3 cabins.The downstairs Hemlock cabin has over 900 square feet of living space. The cabin has a queen bed, 2 super twin beds which can be made into a King bed, cat napper sofa, two full baths, along with a full kitchen and living area. The Hemlock cabin can accommodate four comfortably. All linens are included -- all you have to do is pick up some food and bring your personal items -- all other items will be provided for you! The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, cookware, toaster, coffee maker and microwave. The cabin has heat/air conditioning, ceiling fan, flat screen satellite TV, DVD/VCR, gas fireplace, central laundry facility and gas & charcoal grills. There is also a full hook-up RV pad with 50 amp service, located on the river. (extra cost) The RV lot has a private deck that overlooks the river.Very convenient to both Johnson City and Elizabethton (10 minutes) as well as Roan Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain and Hawksnest ski resorts (45-60 minutes). Immediately adjacent to the lodge is the Watauga River which is about 100 feet wide and is home to some of the finest Trout fishing in the Eastern United States. Trout species in the Watauga River are Rainbow, Brook and Brown as well as several types of Bass and various non-game species. This lower part of the Watauga has been designated as the 'Quality Trout Zone.'
