The staff at the hotel were friendly and always ready to assist with any questions we had, which was a big plus. However, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. Upon arriving on the third floor, we noticed a strong damp, moldy smell, which wasn’t a great first impression. Thankfully, our room itself was clean and smelled fresh. Unfortunately, the AC didn’t work on what turned out to be a very hot night in Cape Town. When we reported this to reception, we were told maintenance had already left for the day and that someone would come up to turn it off entirely. This was confusing, as the room was advertised with a functioning AC, and we weren’t offered an alternative room. While the staff’s friendliness was appreciated, the lack of a solution to a key issue like this was disappointing.L
