I am afraid but a 4 star hotel with a 2 star service ... is not a 4 star hotel any longer. Very pleasing location and environment. The welkome at the front desk was good and informative. A good start, that said ealising that our room did not had any view, we asked for an upgrade against payment. While the front desk reply was correct in nature, the hotel was fully booked, it was very defensive and, call me sensitive, very defensive, almost annoyed. This has been doubled up by the restaurant service. We had the half board and the first evening we spend 2 full hours for a 3 course meal, the service was extremely slow and chaotic. Basics, such as serving bread, did not happen if not after several requests (first evening 3 times and second evening the same). The smaller restaurant is next to the kitchen and the noises coming from it are really unpleasant and have ruined the pleasure of the meal. Once highlighted this short coming at check out, it has been immediately clear that they were aware of the issue of the noise.... still the price is steep... and not justified ... I am sure next time it will be better ;-)
