Mangia's Selinunte Resort

We loved our time at the Mangia and only wished we could have stayed longer. The staff are so friendly that made every part of the experience so relaxed and enjoyable. Our flights were very early, but staff were either offering to place people's luggage to one side or offering out their rooms if they were ready. We were lucky and our room was ready by 11 am. We have a deluxe sea view room which was very nice. I'm not sure what made it deluxe, but it was nice all the same. The room had a large bed, with a firm mattress which I like, the air con was very good, a little loud but we just turned it off at night and the shower was boiling. Never had an issue with hot water. Loved it. It was clean and tidy. Nicely decorated. The odd bump and scratch on the walls from people's luggage, but I'm not going to cry about that. The grounds and pools are immaculate; such a lovely and well-looked-after area. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, and there isn't anything around other than the beach, which is either a short walk or hotel-provided transport away. The assigned beach area for this hotel is very narrow, with limited space but there are sun beds to hire up the beach with plenty more room or just an area to place your towels. We preferred this. The sea was very rough and not for swimming and definitely wouldn't be kid-friendly. The restaurant was amazing, loved the food selection. Lots of Italian choices, various pasta dishes, sauces, risotto and cheese. Along with a mix of everything else. The mains are cooked in front of you so at busier times you may have to wait for whatever the specialist dish was, like pork chop etc. Would definitely recommend this place.

The hotel is one big mistake. Lack of cleaning, sticky floors, dirty windows are just the beginning of the quality disappointment that we can see at first glance. The food is monotonous and tasteless, except for desserts and ice cream. Stale lettuce, old cucumbers, yellow cheese has darkened from "aging", hard meats are completely inedible, the chef must probably work there as a punishment, the drinks fridge wrapped in an iron chain and locked with a padlock adds flavor. There are ants walking practically everywhere, flies in the dining room landing on food and wasps sitting on sweet drinks. Problems with access to drinking water, strange hours, or rather their lack of use of the drinks machine. Bartenders who make half drinks, i.e. glass + base + ice, we have to go to the machine ourselves for a drink. Total lack of knowledge of English among the hotel staff, only at the reception you can communicate communicatively. Small swimming pools do not resemble the size of those in the photos at all. The beach is nice but far from the hotel and very narrow, no beach service, so you have to bring your own drinks. The nearest shop is about 45 minutes walk. The worst hotel we've ever been to, definitely does not deserve 4 stars.

Selinunte mangia's resort una garanzia in tutto. Tutto impeccabile, veramente tutto perfetto. Dal cibo vario e buono. Aperitivi veramente belli e buoni ( soprattutto quello siciliano) Personale disponibile e gentile. Equipe intrattenimento super e al top . Pieni di energia, sempre attivi , e intrattengono con attività serali e al mattino Consiglio di venire a trascorrere qui le vacanze

Everyone has been really welcoming and we have had a lot of fun here, great resort and staff for families but also for friends We have had an amazing time and plan to come next year The rooms were lovely and the food is really nice, especially under all inclusive Thank you guys!

We loved our stay here, all of the staff were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. In particular Mario from the restaurant and Vito from the pool bar were very kind to us. The hotel is beautiful and the food was delicious, and there were many vegetarian options available. Club Lookea were exceptional, they are all very talented, enthusiastic and kept us entertained. Vinny, Donato and Giovanni from Club Lookea made sure we felt included. We would definitely recommend this hotel and can't wait to stay here again!

I feel that this rating is 3.5 stars. We arrived with a fantastic warm and friendly welcome from Roberto. She made the time at the Mangias resort experience very good. The resort itself is big and two lovely pools, the sun loungers are comfy and the outside beds were a real treat, talking of beds the beds in the room were perfect and the shower and bathroom area was spot on. Generally clean and all seating areas nice and tidy. Bins emptied frequently. However the down points for us was the breakfast. I like a fry up but had to opt for pasteries as it was not up to scratch with the quality and variety. My niece struggled with the food a bit at lunch and dinner and not for our tastes which is understandable as a good proportion of the people staying at the hotel were French. So if your British the food is more miss than hit. The drinks are not great quality. The drinks machine that is card operated for soft drinks is a mission and the wasps around it are a real pain. That would need looking at especially in busier times of the year. Water for the room was not all inclusive, for example you are not allowed to fill up water bottles and with no shop nearby I found this not safe for hydration purposes more so in high temperature season. The last point I would say is the pool toilets were not cleaned properly or maintained through the day. I wont say how I found the toilet but it was not pleasant, with many staff going round talking to people more care and attention needed in the pool toilet areas. Overall a restful relaxed holiday for what we were looking for but a shame about the food!!
