Le Friquet Hotel

So glad there was availability here for myself and my daughter for our first visit to Guernsey to visit family. It’s a beautiful hotel, and the building and grounds have been well looked after and cared for. Everyone was very friendly, everything was very clean, the room was spotless and the air conditioning was very welcome. We only had breakfast here and the selection of food was excellent as well as being very fresh. We live quite a distance away, and a flight had been cancelled so it wasn’t easy to get here, but we had such a comfortable stay that I would have no hesitation in making this my first choice when we return. Thank you to all the staff.

Unlucky for me I messed up my booking dates and only found out when I arrived. Two pieces of luck followed, I was greeted by the delightful receptionist, Jennifer from memory, who booked me in to the last room available and arranged for me and two guest of mine to join me for dinner. The restaurant was fully booked, but they managed to squeeze us in. I was allocated room 12, which is on the 1st floor overlooking the front of the hotel. A comfortable, clean twin room, with everything you would expect in a hotel room, with very good quality towels and lots of hot water. I had an issue with my phone charger, popped down to reception and Jennifer, found me a charger I could borrow, she saved my day again, that was the 3rd time in 1/2hr. My guests arrived a short time later and we enjoyed a great meal, all 3 having the scallops, 2 of us sharing a wonderfully presented and incredibly tasty Chateaubriand, best I’ve ever had. I was encouraged by the waitress to sample the Mochi Dessert and am now addicted to them. After a good night sleep and enjoyed the well presented breakfast, there was Jennifer at reception to thank me for choosing Le Friquet and wishing me a good day. I visit Guernsey 5 or 6 times a year and if it’s my choice I always try to stay at Le Friquet, with the home from home feel, the warmth of the welcome, great food and attentive staff, why choose anywhere else!

Food was good and staff friendly but don’t go if your expecting relaxing break or much sleep Bed was two singles pushed together of different heights that wouldn’t stay together so spent night in a dip. Alongside that was the loud dance music that was still playing at 1.30 in the morning and back on at 7 Did raise both at checkout and was told it was staff on a busy night and brushed comments away Shame as last stay there was excellent in 2022

Its always a pleasure to stay at Le Friquet. The rooms are very comfortable, the food is great and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Le Friquet Hotel is perfect for meeting up with friends to enjoy a staycation, a great way to have a mini break without the hassle of travelling.

Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed felt very luxurious. There was lots of storage, the WiFi worked well and the tea/coffee tray was well stocked. The downsides were the air con was very noisy and I think there was also a lot of noise outside our window (smokers area?) and other guests stomping up and down the stairs. Luckily we has ear plugs so not too much of an issue. The TV bracket was a bit loose so TV was at a bit of a wonky angle. Great that it was a smart TV though as we were able to use Netflix. Check in/out went smoothly and staff were very friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant. We had the Tennerfest menu which was fantastic, as was the service and the restaurant was busy and full of atmosphere. The only off putting thing was the tank of lobsters. They looked really crammed in and I think perhaps the days of seeing your dinner in a tank before you eat it are long gone, and the lobster tank might be better off in the kitchen. Those lobsters don't really look like they are living their best lives before they end up on someone's plate. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a really good selection. We booked the £90 pp Tennerfest deal which was well worth the money

This is our second stay at the hotel, we were in room 32 which was spotless spacious, & the conservatory was a welcome addition, all the staff were friendly & catered for our needs. We found the price of the dry cleaning & the quality of cleaning was unacceptable & we would not use them again
