Hotel was so pretty and clean. Loved the location. All the employees were really professional and courteous.

"It was great! Everything—the staff's attention, the hotel's style is wonderful, the hygiene, the cleanliness, the meals, the breakfasts, everything. It's a must. We were treated like royalty. They deserve the best. I recommend it with five stars.

Everything was excellent during our stay at the hotel kartaxa. The place is in the center just a few steps from the main attractions of the city. The breakfast is high quality so i can recommend this place without any doubt. Thanks for everything.

Stayed here for 3 nights - nice and quiet. Rooms were basically kitted out but very clean and decent shower. Good AC. Beds a little too firm. Communal areas lovely, friendly staff. Breakfast was good but based on other reviews we did have higher expectations. The main bonus of this hotel was it was very quiet at night time which we loved.

Comfortable hotel in a great location Cartagena. Rooms are fairly basic, however they are comfortable and most importantly very quiet. The hotel is situated on a quiet street within the Walled City, which cannot be said for many other hotels. Walking distance to a lot of shopping, including a high end mall, as well as a plaza with several different restaurant / bar options. Breakfast offered is excellent.

Amazing beautiful small hotel. Plants everywhere, lovely balconies, stairs and spaces to read and take photos. The pool is quite small but it provides a nice quiet relaxing time. The terrace in the 4th floor is beautiful and allows you to enjoy sunsets and birds. The staff was always friendly and super helpful with any doubt we had, the kitchen staff were very kind with me and my food allergies so they adapted the dishes several times, by the way, you need to try the lulo juice during breakfast (amazing!) My mother in law had a massage and she loved it. They are constantly keeping the facilities clean and fresh and I loved that.

The location was excellent, and the food and service were superb. The staff was very kind and helpful. I contacted them several times with inquiries, and they responded promptly. One of the times, I asked about the safety of taking a taxi from a specific area. They immediately replied with advice on how to proceed. We also took one of the island tours they offered, which was incredible.

Beautiful hotel, great location and good price. Friendly staff. It’s a place I would definitely go back to if I went to Cartagena. I had a deal where breakfast was included and the breakfast was very good too. Yip I like this hotel.

The bed could have been a little softer. I got locked in the bathroom. Better to catch failing door handles before they actually fail. Perhaps the refrigerator could be set colder. Smells from painting in the hotel needed more ventilation but that was not a large problem.

I genuinely had a great time during my stay in Kartaxa! To be honest the coffee I had each morning was enough to make me visit again. I was welcomed for breakfast every day with an amazing taste and smell of the well prepared Colombian coffee by John and Jennifer! Very friendly, yet professional people that made me feel at the right place. The hotel is located very close to the museums and the center of the town. A pleasent little swimming pool and clean rooms. I do Recommend!

This hotel was fine - the staff seemed a bit clueless when we were there though. We had requested to be picked up from the airport but they obviously had never booked it. When I rang they hung up on me and then took too long to reply to my whatsapp’s. Thankfully there are loads of reputable taxis outside the airport. When we arrived we didn’t get any apologies. We also arrived early so asked if we could have breakfast there - at first he seemed confused and said no but then later said yes but we led need to pay, fine. The staff at breakfast and in the restaurant was good and friendly and the food was great. The rooms are basic but clean. There is no hairdryer. The hotel looked a bit tired but then it is cheaper than similar options in the area.

We loved this hotel...it was the best part of our holiday! Our room (301) was clean, airy, beautifully decorated and had great views. The interior courtyard/stairwell was beautiful and the pool and terrace were small but well-appointed. The staff were ALL terrific...friendly, helpful and competent. Breakfasts were terrific and the location is quiet but central. We walked virtually everywhere.

The ideal room to rest after a full activities day in Cartagena. Small and cozy rooms. On weekdays you might be awaken by the kids at a nearby school but I am pretty sure after a long day sleep will not be disturbed. At the restaurant, John will take care of any extra out of the menu if inside his possibilities. I wanted to have my co-in laws taste the different tropical fruits not known in the US. I bought three different fruits at the street vendors and with no hesitation John would have juices for everybody for breakfast. Limitless rules in the kitchen under John's management. The street the hotel is located on is one of the most beautiful and quiet ones in Cartagena. On a Saturday or Sunday morning you can walk it just yourself. On the East end you will be on the interesting "Bóvedas" area.
