Warwick Lodge

We were booked here after the first day of our Hadrian’s Path walk from from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend in Newcastle. The B+B is just 15 minutes from the the path in the suburbs of Carlisle, Carlise centre is just 15 minutes walk away. The very friendly and helpful owner Caron greeted us on arrival and showed us to our rooms. Very nicely presented and clean room with comfortable bed . The room is a little small but well-fitted including en-suite bathroom with shower (no bath). We had supper at the excellent Alexandros restaurant just 10 mins away as the b+b does not do supper. The breakfast was good. Packed lunches are not available. Check-in is 4pm.

The best stay I have ever had in guest houses. Caron, the owner, is so friendly and welcoming and I felt very at home and comfortable here. My room was lovely, with lots of pretty touches to the decor and a super-comfy bed and pillows. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. If you want a real welcome and a beautiful house in which to stay at the end of your day's travels, I would highly recommend Warwick Lodge. I will always stay here now, when travelling to Carlisle.

Lovely, large, bay-fronted Victorian home that was a private girls' school in years gone by. Extremely comfortable and clean, with large bedrooms, tea and coffee making tray, hairdryer and TV with Netflix, YouTube etc. Breakfast is served in the beautiful dining room and Caron provides a full selection of cereals, fruit and continental items as well as a full English breakfast cooked to order. It's very peaceful in the evenings, despite it's close proximity to the centre, and we slept very well in a comfortable bed. Caron is a very welcoming host and her standards are exceptional. The Warwick would be ideal for single travellers who perhaps feel a little isolated by the bigger, more impersonal hotels - we certainly felt very warm, welcome and safe here.

We chose this accommodation as it was located close to the rail and bus stations and also close to the centre of the town for an evening meal A very welcoming host. Beautifully furnished rooms with very interesting pictures and ornaments. the bed was so comfy it was the best sleep of the holiday. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Would highly recommend this accommodation.

Spotless, welcoming, perfectly adequate. Conveniently located. Other guests were overheard at breakfast quietly approving. OK, you'll look in vain for a jacuzzi, a helipad and tennis courts here but I honestly don't know how, or indeed why, Caron does it for the cost but I'm so glad both that she does and that I found Warwick Lodge (by chance) on a brief business visit. I expect to be back for similar reasons and if so this will be my first choice.

I had a nice, brief stay here while hiking Hadrian's Wall in September 2023. The host, Caron, was very welcoming and accommodating, allowing me and another hiker to check in early when we both happened to arrive at the same time, around an hour earlier than the official check-in time. The Lodge is located in a quiet, residential location, but within quick and easy access to all the Carlisle has to offer, as well as a brief walk off Hadrian's Wall Path. It was the perfect spot to spend the night after logging in the miles from Bowness-on-Solway. If I were to come back to Carlisle for another visit, I would certainly stay here again!
