We just spent six rejuvenating days at the Eggentaler Hotel near Bolzano, South Tyrol. This 3-star gem consistently delivered 5-star service, food, and cleanliness. The profound quiet and soothing stream sounds ensured we rested deeply and truly unwound. The restaurant is a standout. The T-bone and ribeye steaks were utterly delicious and melted in your mouth. Sommelier Moritz was funny, courteous, and spoke perfect English, adding a special touch. (Note: Reservations are recommended as it's popular with locals). While the hotel mainly caters to German and Italian speakers, several staff members spoke good English, making communication effortless. Our mornings started with an enjoyable, relaxing, and complimentary breakfast where our cups were constantly refilled. The pool and hot tub were clean and refreshing, though the pool was a bit cool. The Eggentaler's slightly out-of-town location is ideal for day trips into the stunning Dolomites or even Austria. Parking was plentiful. Our room included thoughtful touches like robes and slippers. A huge bravo to the staff—Arnold, Ranko, and Herta—who made our stay unforgettable. We consistently felt like we were receiving 5-star service. For an exceptional experience in South Tyrol, look no further. And seriously, eat at their restaurant multiple times!
