The beds were comfy and the view was amazing! Such a gorgeous and quiet resort … went with 3 friends and had a fantastic stay Grounds are beautiful and so peaceful! Fresh breakfasts with all the local veggies & fruit from the farm Owner was so kind and they even had a cute pup that lived there …

We spent our 30th anniversary here and the place is every bit as gorgeous as the photos. I just read a one star review before writing this, and honestly if you're looking for a full spa experience with numerous amenities and a staff to wait on your every need, this is not the place for you. For us, we wanted quiet, tranquil, and serene, with a view, a comfortable bed, and minimal interactions with other humans. We got exactly this. Do note the use of the pool, sauna and spa requires purchasing a separate package for this for a 1.5 hour session. Also if you are in the Heron Nest guesthouse, you have to walk up to the main building to get your morning coffee (or bring your own coffee and use the kitchen in that building to make it and clean up after), and in bad weather that's kind of a bummer. But speaking of service, the staff was so kind to arrange for a brief Northern Lights appearance on the eve of our anniversary ;-)

Lightwater Cove was little more than a stunning place to be wildly disappointed. Almost half an hour from local shops, cafes and restaurants and with no kitchenettes in the rooms, guests have no access to warm meals or specialty coffees after 10am. Staff was almost non-existent and the minimal service received was mediocre at best. If you are looking for an expensive place to lay your head at the end of the day, it works. If you're looking to be well-treated, well-served and well-fed, your time and money would be much better spent in the high-end spas, delicious restaurants and above-and-beyond service available elsewhere

We had a wonderful, relaxing, and peaceful experience at Lightwater Cove. The owner's personal touch was refreshing, and the staff was helpful. We look forward to returning soon. We had a massage and facial at the spa and would give them a 5-star rating. Nature, ponds, and beautiful flowers surrounded us.

I was looking for a special place for our 20 year anniversary. This was definitely it. The serenity and scenic views were more than I had expected. As this whole venture was a total surprise to my wife, she was totally overwhelmed. The views from our room were spectacular in all directions. The architecture of buildings and design of the farm areas are indescribable so I won't even try but if you ask Monika, one of the owners, she would love to give you a history of Lightwater Cove Farm and how it came to be. As you listen to her, her voice projects the love and pride of what she and her husband have accomplished -- a dream for all to share. Thank you for your vision and thank you for allowing us to share in your accomplishments.

Lightwater Cove was absolutely beautiful! Owner Greg was an incredible host and went out of his way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The place is super clean, modern, peaceful and we would happily stay there again. We would strongly recommend it.

Lightwater Cove - the name heralds a precious getaway -- and it delivers! Perched in a spacious suite in what feels like the top of the world, my partner and I gaze in wonder at the property's private cove below, which spreads into an endless glittering sea. At our backs, we rest against a hand carved headboard, inset with copper leaf foliage. Unparalleled curved woodbeam craftsmanship defines this stunning modern architecture. Moonlight glows between the Garry oaks. We hear the hooting of an owl, a raven's call high in the trees. The main hall, below, is massive. A parade of delicious healthy food sits waiting at the bar. A choice of indoor hall with large rock fireplace, outdoor oceanview deck, or dappled garden arbour is available for repose. A spa is available, as is a warm azure swimming pool, or hand-hewn stone stairs to take you down to the ocean. The grounds display waterfalls, ponds, majestic golden gates, stonework magic, a variety of fruits and organic vegetables, a greenhouse with succulent yellow cherry tomatoes and a procession of flowers, including dahlias, hydrangea and lavender. Forest paths, tree houses, and a heritage orchard dot the landscape. Aahhh, the grace of nature. The elegance and beauty of the grounds and Lodge. The friendly warmth of our hosts. Sanctuary Highly recommend!!!

I was going to host a retreat at the main guesthouse, and found the listing on VRBO, for almost 1/2 the price. The owners did not want to honor the pricing that was advertised and did not want to take accountability for their mistake. I was communicating with the wife the whole time, and then when I asked them about the pricing and listing, she all of a sudden wanted me to speak to her husband. I found this very unprofessional and their business standards very low. They tried to say it was another house on the property, the Nest, but that one is a 5 bedroom. The Guesthouse is a 7 bedroom (actually 9, but their descriptions are all over the place and very misleading and confusing). The images and descriptions on VRBO are for the Guesthouse and they wanted to charge me almost double the price.

I had the privilege of staying at Lightwater Cove recently, and I was impressed and in awe of how much meticulous detail and thought has gone into constructing this oceanside sanctuary. I stayed in the Wheelhouse Suite and was greeted by the sun in the mornings, with the view of the ocean outside my window and the snowy mountains in the distance. I was given tours of the property and the rich in-depth history of the land that Greg and Monika have preserved and paid tribute to. The architecture is stunning, luxurious and cosy all wrapped into one - truly an incredible experience. I look forward to visiting Salt Spring Island again, and enjoying all of the magic that Lightwater Cove has to offer.
