What a beautiful place and very friendly staff. Pro's • Well priced • Neat and tidy • Great amenities - Aircon, TV, fireplace, heaters... • Beautiful scenery • Friendly and helpful staff Con's • Lack of communication • Not all rooms have Fireplaces as some is broken and you are not notified • Parents room did not have a TV remote We loved our time there and will go back anytime. The personnel were friendly and very helpful. Definatly recommended.

Before we booked we read some reviews,people are kind,but you have to be honest. Our worst experience,bad food, restaurant did not have the wines that was on their wine list,no bread rolls to make prego rolls or any type of burgersThe room is old and tired.Please do not go there

What is amiss with this property is the complete disregard for the litters of kittens on the property. Not a good indication of character of apparently 3 owners in various locations who are not interested in sterilising the cats . Very distressing to see poor, wee hungry kittens, very small and very scared. I can't comment on the rest of the place as this took precedence over our entire stay

Restaurant runs out of food happened now on two different occasions they truly need to get their kitchen up to scratch. There is really a food management problem. 5 Nov and now again 16 Dec 2023 no pizzas no beef burgers really now. 🙈

We had a wonderful stay at Africamps at Karoo 1. The units are clean, comfortable and has everything you need. If by any chance you have left someting behind, the super friendly staff are close by to help. As winter was setting in, the indoor fireplace and the hot-tub were an absolute win. Just know you will need a lots of wood. We will be back.

Absolute hats off to Karoo 1 for their amazing service and assistance. We were supposed to have our wedding at this beautiful venue in December. We went for a tasting and the cheff is absolutely brilliant, alongside the friendly, professional staff. Unfortunately De Doorns had flooding the week of our wedding and the venue was also flooded. The owner contacted us to inform us and was willing to go above and beyond to get the place back into shape for our celebration to commence, and even offered to facilitate the wedding in January. The weather forecast was unfortunately not looking good for the day of the ceremony and we decided together with the owner and helpful staff of Karoo 1 that we would change venues. Thereafter the owner refunded us and we were able to secure a different venue. It was such a pity that we did not get to celebrate our special day at this beautiful, secluded location, however we will definitely head back there for an anniversary trip this year.
