I stayed here for about three weeks with a group of people. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. However, the owners were extremely unpleasant (Please check their responses to poor reviews on TripAdvisor and Google; they are outrageously unprofessional and inhospitable). This is a good reflection of the atmosphere they create for their "guests." The biggest issue I had was that they allowed another hotel guest (someone not associated with me or my group) into my room and into the room of others in my group. I'd like to know if that invasion of privacy is legal? Why was another guest allowed into my room without my permission or knowledge? We discovered this because we heard them complaining about our open suitcases to another guest when they didn't realize we could hear them. The owners also would speak to us as if we were children (and not adult, paying guests) when we made noise walking up their creeky stairs late at night-- a clear facility issue, and not something we could control. I have never in my life heard of a hotel "professional" commenting on the time guests return to their room. They have a cleaning service that comes into your room to clean everyday which, in theory, sounds great. However, we were asked multiple times to leave our rooms while we were in them so they could clean, instead of skipping the cleaning for the day. We literally were not "allowed" to decline cleaning and remain in the rooms we paid to reserve. They also asked us to give them our itinerary so they could plan for breakfast. They already had a set window for breakfast, but they insisted we provide additional information. Overall-- this stay was incredibly disappointing. We were treated like intruders in their home, not as guests. And, I'm guessing they will respond to this review (as they have done in the past) with rude remarks. Please consider how they respond as an indicator of how they treat their guests in general. Could not pay me to go back.
