Cape Diem Lodge

Great location, beautiful historical building that is thoughtfully decorated and the most amazing team of staff. Definitely recommend!

My wife and I had an absolutely incredible stay at Cape Diem Lodge in early May 2025. Booking was easy, and staff were responsive leading up to our stay with questions like what outlets they had for charging devices. It’s a 20 minute Uber from the airport and a 5 minute Uber from the waterfront. I think it’s possible to walk (and relatively safe in the daytime) but we never did because Uber was so easy and inexpensive. We liked how the hotel was a bit tucked away from the busy street. It also feels very secure, with a large locking gate. You enter a stunning courtyard and beautiful old main building. The breakfast area inside and around the pool is relaxing. Our room was very comfortable. While the bathroom could’ve used a little more love and care, it was clean and still nice. While the hotel is beautiful, what makes this place special is the staff. They are incredibly warm and helpful. They are there for whatever you need. We had not planned anything for our trip but the staff helped us find a driver in the morning to take us to Cape Point and all around for the day. Exceptional customer service! The breakfast was also delicious, and the atmosphere is perfect. We wish we could’ve stayed longer!

From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. All of the staff were fabulous, with a special mention for Bob, the night manager. The breakfast was delicious, the room comfortable and spotlessly clean.

Great location. From start to finish the owners and staff were friendly and attentive. Special mention goes to Bob who was wonderful. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Close enough to walk to V&A water front but in a nice quiet area. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast was good.

Definitely our favourite place to stay in Cape Town. This was our third visit & there will be more! So relaxing & great pool with sunbeds & sofas to relax with a glass of delicious wine. Staff are super helpful & so welcoming with nothing being too much trouble - Bianca Carli Sam & Bob, & patience & fortunate who all work tirelessly to ensure the five star service.

Great Stay A lovely greeting from Carly on arrival with the offer of complimentary refreshments and nibbles which was very nice. Parking was excellent as we were able to make use of the garage throughout our stay. Very comfortable room and bathroom with excellent shower and bath (albeit we didnt use the bath). The only downside was the lack of storage in the room which was a bit tight. We were offered a late checkout on our room on the last day by Carly which was very useful and appreciated. Up a pretty steep hill, it is about 15 minutes to walk down to the V&A and other restaurants, plus a Woolworths (M&S) at the end of the street.
