Cape Diem Lodge

Great location, beautiful historical building that is thoughtfully decorated and the most amazing team of staff. Definitely recommend!

My wife and I had an absolutely incredible stay at Cape Diem Lodge in early May 2025. Booking was easy, and staff were responsive leading up to our stay with questions like what outlets they had for charging devices. It’s a 20 minute Uber from the airport and a 5 minute Uber from the waterfront. I think it’s possible to walk (and relatively safe in the daytime) but we never did because Uber was so easy and inexpensive. We liked how the hotel was a bit tucked away from the busy street. It also feels very secure, with a large locking gate. You enter a stunning courtyard and beautiful old main building. The breakfast area inside and around the pool is relaxing. Our room was very comfortable. While the bathroom could’ve used a little more love and care, it was clean and still nice. While the hotel is beautiful, what makes this place special is the staff. They are incredibly warm and helpful. They are there for whatever you need. We had not planned anything for our trip but the staff helped us find a driver in the morning to take us to Cape Point and all around for the day. Exceptional customer service! The breakfast was also delicious, and the atmosphere is perfect. We wish we could’ve stayed longer!

From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. All of the staff were fabulous, with a special mention for Bob, the night manager. The breakfast was delicious, the room comfortable and spotlessly clean.

Great location. From start to finish the owners and staff were friendly and attentive. Special mention goes to Bob who was wonderful. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Close enough to walk to V&A water front but in a nice quiet area. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast was good.

Definitely our favourite place to stay in Cape Town. This was our third visit & there will be more! So relaxing & great pool with sunbeds & sofas to relax with a glass of delicious wine. Staff are super helpful & so welcoming with nothing being too much trouble - Bianca Carli Sam & Bob, & patience & fortunate who all work tirelessly to ensure the five star service.

We stayed at Cape Diem for 4 nights and had a very comfortable stay. We had a lovely welcome from Samuel and all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was very well equipped but overly bright in the mornings - it could really do with some black out curtains. Breakfast was a little hit & miss. The fresh fruit was often depleted. On the first day my omelette was given to another guest. On 2 occasions my wife's soft poached eggs arrived hard boiled. These things were always rectified but given the limited number of guests it was a little surprising. The location is very quiet and only a short walk from a supermarket & bars. The V&A waterfront is only 10 to 15 minutes walk away.
