Labotessa Luxury Boutique Hotel

We stayed at Labotessa for four nights in May, 2025. The hotel staff was helpful from the day the reservation was made with dinner recommendations and reservations. Upon arrival, they were genuinely kind, gracious, and had little surprises and welcoming touches waiting for us. The property is immaculate, the rooms are very well appointed, and the hotel's design and style is sophisticated and comfortable. Bridget, Martin and all the staff greeted us daily with nothing short of pure professionalism, helpfulness, and a welcome smile. I've stayed in hotels around the world and this experience rates as one of the best I've ever seen. While many hotels offer service, Labotessa offers true hospitality. A very rare, very welcome, and very beautiful experience.

I rarely write reviews but wanted to make a point to draft this one. My sister, friend and I have traveled extensively for about 30 years and have visited 75+ countries. Without hesitation, we would put Labotessa in the top 5 hotels that we have stayed at in the world. The property is the meticulously renovated home of a former governor. The design is beautiful and there has been great attention to detail throughout. We stayed in the Presidential Suite for 4 nights and felt that we were staying in a luxurious townhouse in a sophisticated urban setting. The staff, led by the proprietor, are extremely welcoming and constantly ready to assist with anything, from a special meal in the cafe to a snack in the suite. Our unit had a beautiful kitchen that was stocked with all manner of beverages and a daily array of snacks. This is a great alternative to the Mount Nelson Hotel property where we had previously stayed. We were preparing for a three week safari so this was the perfect place to relax, enjoy Cape Town and its many offerings before embarking on the balance of our trip. We loved the peanut butter cookies that they make so the staff made several dozen for us to take on our journey, including a copy of the recipe. We had an incredible experience at Labotessa. From the seamless pre-arrival communication to help with booking tours and restaurants, the staff were outstanding — warm, friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. We stayed at Labotessa Luxury Boutique Hotel in Cape Town for my nephew’s wedding, and I can honestly say it was the best hotel experience we’ve ever had. My family travels often. We’ve been to the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, Brazil, Africa, and Asia, and have stayed in some truly beautiful places. But nothing compares to Labotessa. The service, the location, and the atmosphere were truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like family. We came from the U.S. with high expectations, and Labotessa exceeded every single one. Every team member we met was warm, thoughtful, and incredibly attentive. They learned our names right away and made sure we had everything we needed without us even asking. Huge thanks to Martijn and Bridget for going the extra mile. The rooms were stunning. You get your own private elevator entrance, and everything inside was elegant, spacious, and comfortable. Whether we needed restaurant suggestions, help booking outings, or just a great conversation, the staff delivered every time. Their recommendations felt personal and thoughtful, and we never felt rushed or brushed off. The location is perfect. It’s right downtown near Parliament, walking distance to great restaurants, local shops, nail salons, and more. The beach was just a quick two-minute Uber ride away. And, Ubers arrived so quickly that we had to be downstairs before even calling one. Traveling to Africa was deeply meaningful to us as Africans and African Americans. Labotessa made the experience even more special. Our trip was filled with love, family, and joy, and staying here made it truly unforgettable. We’re already planning to return with more of our family. Labotessa felt like home. If you’re visiting Cape Town, do yourself a favor and stay here. You’ll be blown away.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this property. My husband actually thinks our stay on this property may have been one of the best hotel experiences he has ever had. We will certainly recommend the property to anyone visiting Cape Town. If we visit again we will absolutely book a room here.

A must-visit boutique hotel! We’ve traveled far and wide, but we’ve never encountered such a warm and personal welcome. The rooms boast stylish interior design, creating a chic and comfortable atmosphere. Breakfast is of outstanding quality, served in a charming little garden with a small fountain that gives it a secluded, hidden-gem feel. The service and food are truly exceptional. Don’t just take our word for it—experience it for yourself!
