Great location, able to walk through the vineyard of Groot Constatia where you can do wine tastings at one of the best vineyards in the area. Roughly 30-40 minutes to all Cape Town attractions

The property is stunning and beautiful andctge room we had, overlooking the gardens and pool, was possibly one of the best rooms we have stayed in with an abundance of storage and a separate dressing room. In a lovely neighbourhood and it is just a 5-10 minute walk through the vineyard to the excellent Jonkershuis restaurant. Other excellent restaurants are in the centre of Constantia a short drive away and the hotel has a driver who will drive you down and then pick you back up for about the same cost as an Uber. Breakfasts are just continental which was fine but I would suggest having the butter chilled or not placed on tables as it was all melted in the plastic pots from being in the sunshine of the breakfast room. Complimentary tea and coffee was provided all day, everyday, with delicious cake in the afternoon too. The only negative in the whole stay was that the sunlounger mattresses and some of the loungers have definitely seen better days. Overall, this was a great start to our SA roadtrip and I would have little hesitation in staying here again.

This is a fabulous guest house, the owner Jaques meets you and is really welcoming and informative. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is a nice continental buffet style, with plenty of options. There are two pools, we only used the main one, but very clean and a good temperature. Plenty of towels and beds / seating by the pool. They also have a driver, who will shuttle you around for approximately the same cost as an uber, but he's very reliable and that’s important. The rooms are very well equipped, plenty of storage, a safe and comfy beds. The only slight downside (which will depend on the time of year you visit) is there is no air con, but there is a tall fan in the room to compensate. There's an honesty bar, which is well stocked for most needs I would think. We will absolutely go back to stay the next time we are in Constantia.

Everything about Devonport House is brilliant. The hosts Jacques and Jenn make you feel at home from the moment you arrive and you are made to feel nothing is too much trouble. The location is a delight. There is even a gate that leads straight out to the adjacent vineyard. The swimming pool along with all the furnishings are immaculate. Having stayed in Constantia for the last fifteen years Devonport House has without question been the best.

Incredible in every aspect. Beautiful property Spotlessly clean Perfect setting. The gardens are delightful. Views from the room were stunning. Walks through the vineyards to Groot Constantia, a joy. Attention to detail is second to none Jacques and Jenn are charming hosts and wonderful company Jacques is an absolute gentleman, he went out of his way ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Pinto is the best chauffer All the team were helpful and friendly. Thank you to everyone at Devonport house for taking such good care of us and for making our stay unforgettable. Already counting down to being back next year.

Devenport House is run by a married couple, helpful, very friendly hosts who manage a good staff. The spacious house is set in a beautiful garden (with two swimming pools). The website contains lots of useful tips. Worth reading. Who could not feel at home here?
