Your host,Tommy is a most engaging and colourful character who does anything to make your stay memorable. Montrose House is decorated in an eclectic style, the beds are comfortable and clean, Tommy prepared a lovely evening dinner and hearty breakfast for us. He is a most amazing gentleman, an OAM recipient for his charitable work a previous chef and his persona Talullah. I thoroughly recommend a stay here.

Montrose House is unique, quirky & full of interesting items collected over many years by the owner. There are lots of different rooms to enjoy. Tommy Jeffs is the most engaging host & cooked an amazing dinner for a special occasion for 8 friends! Highly recommend this accommodation.

I highly recommend a weekend away at Montrose House Canowindra. The host, Tommy, was superb and made our stay one in a million. He also knows what is on in the local area to ensure you leave no stone unturned. The cherry on top is the beautiful rooms that you get to call your own for the time you are there.

Owner, Tommy Jeffs, created a perfect Christmas and July experience for our group of friends. From the moment we entered the Yuletide decorated bed and breakfast we were blown away! Every room in this eclectic home was themed for Christmas and each space perfect for Tommy’s own brand of hospitality; pre and post dinner drinks in the Whitehouse room, breakfast in the Princess Margaret Room or on the morning terrace, dinner in the Tuscany Room. The meals were sensational and generous; breakfast a choice of eggs benedict or classic big breakfast, Christmas dinner was a three course feast of the best cauliflower and potato soup I have ever tasted served with homemade bread, roast turkey with all the trimmings and a choice of pavlova roll or Christmas putting with home made carnation milk icecream for dinner. Every mouthful was delicious! Tommy made our trip even more special by entertaining us with stories of his glamorous life as a cabaret performer, his time at Port Macquarie running restaurants and of his life as a local treasure in Canowindra. He gave us tips for how to spend our time; Rosnay organic wines, Melissa Barber gallery and cafe (best homemade cakes), local shops to visit etc. If you are looking for a perfect weekend get away in a B&B, with a host extraordinaire, book at Montrose House. I cannot recommend Tommy, his cooking skills and his adorable home highly enough, you will not be disappointed!

Montrose House is such a wonderful place to stay. It’s full of old world charm, thoughtfully and creatively decorated by Tommy Jeffs. My room was so comfortable, the furnishings and artworks around the establishment added to the charm. Breakfast was outstanding and I enjoyed a gorgeous buffet lunch with friends during my stay. Tommy is such a wonderful host, generous, funny and warm. Thanks Tommy, I looking forward to my next visit and to your excellent hospitality.

We were a group of 6 on a reunion and were so lucky to have two nights at Montrose House. This is a truly stunning old home, filled with artworks and treasures, comfy rooms with quirky furnishings, great food - the highlight being mine host himself, Tommy Jeffs. Such a warm, welcoming host, nothing was too much trouble and his stories and easy manner made us feel like old friends from the minute we arrived! We quickly discovered he is held in high esteem by the local community too. Spend a few days at Montrose House with Tommy - you will feel you've stepped into another world and you'll want to return - as we definitely will!

What a wonderful Christmas in July we had at the beautifully decked out Montrose House. Tommy is the host with the most, a must to visit if you’re in the area. A wonderful venue for either a private dinner or function. Thank you Tommy, we’ll be back next year.❤️❤️❤️

We just had a most enjoyable & entertaining ‘long weekend’ at Montrose House, a beautifully restored post Victorian mansion full of interesting & eclectic collectables and decorations. Lovely meal, log fire & glass of red. We particularly enjoyed the hospitality of our host Tommy Jeffs OAM.

Great. This is the same establishment as Montrose House on Riverbank at Canowindra. To get a full picture of how wonderful it is read all reviews off both sites and you'll appreciate how good it is.
