Parque de Campismo Orbitur Canidelo

The camping site Orbitur Canidelo is located in Vila Nova de Gaia. It is relatively distant from Porto, but offers the advantage of being by the seaside. It is not very spacious and tends to be a bit cramped. The reception was professional. The sanitary facilities were very clean. There is a restaurant, a swimming pool and a small shop. This is a good option for those who want to join leisure at the beach with city visits. It is however not advisable, if you want to concentrate only on the city discovery...

The site is worthy of three and a half stars, and it seems as though they are in the process of improving it, so eventually, I think they will achieve an even higher rating. The location is just across the road from a lovely beach, which is an advantage. The sites aren’t large, but they are adequate. The main amenities area is old and dated. It really needs an upgrade, but it is very clean. There is a beautiful new amenities block next to the pool, but unfortunately, it only opens pool hours, so isn’t available during the peak morning time. As it is so much nicer than the main block, I suspect they know people would choose it instead, and it wouldn’t be able to accommodate the numbers. There is a regular bus to Porto just a few minutes walk from the camp, only €1.90 each way, so it’s very convenient to visit the city. It takes approximately 30 minutes. There is a very good supermarket just 1km from the campsite which was very useful for us, as we were travelling in a motor home. To visit Porto, this was a really good choice for us.

Il campeggio è comodo x visitare Porto, la fermata dell'autobus è a circa 300 mt. È piccolo e può essere difficoltoso trovare posto, consiglio pertanto di arrivare presto; il check out è entro le 14. Le piazzole non sono completamente piane ed alcune non facilmente accessibili con mezzi lunghi. Il mare è proprio di fronte al campeggio. C'è una bella passeggiata sul lungo mare. La corrente elettrica non è molta e non regge il fon, nelle colonnine non c'è possibilità di riarmarla se salta, quindi nel caso occorre andare alla reception (se aperta) e attendere che vengano loro a riaccenderla. Docce e lavandini sono comodi. C'è un campo da calcetto e una piscina.
