16 Bay View

Upon arrival, we immediately felt welcomed. Nick was the desk clerk and he was just amazing throughout our entire stay. We had a small internet problem the first night and the staff went above and beyond measure to correct it. The hotel gave us a small discount when we checked out for our inconvenience. We stayed on the 3rd floor in a balcony room. Our view was like looking at a postcard and our room was so very comfortable. The hotel provided "real" coffee cups and glass water and wine glasses. They also provided a large bottle of water in our room and comfortable robes. The furnishings and decor was just simply perfect, mixing old world design with modern. The hotel is located in the middle of everything in Camden. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast everyday with other hotel guests and enjoyed chatting with others in the morning during coffee and breakfast. The atmosphere in the hotel was relaxed and we felt welcomed and special by the staff throughout our entire stay. Staying at 16 Bayview was a delight and a highlight of our trip to Camden.

Bad experience from the beginning. Had reserved a room with a view directly form the hotel site and paid extra for it. Nice picture of a balcony overlooking the bay. Got the second worst “view· on the first floor, looking at the alley behind the building. When I complained I was told the room had “a view” (see the contrast in the pictures). Before leaving in the morning for a cruise around the bay I asked if we could leave the room at 12 instead at 11 and was authorized by the attendant at the front desk. At 11 I got a call from them while were on the boat telling me to leave the room. Told them I had been authorized until noon. "Oh, OK, fine". When we went back, we had been locked out of the room and there was nobody at the front desk. Kept calling the phone that had called me at the cell phone but no response. Went looking for them around the hotel and finally found one person that opened my room to get our stuff out. But it gets worse. When I got home to check on my credit card charges, I found that I had been charged twice, once upon reservation and once upon arrival. Now disputing the charge with the credit card company. But the room was nicely furnished, very comfortable bed for my bad back and one of the best bathrooms and shower heads ever. And the breakfast was also very nice.

This is a lovely boutique style hotel in a convenient location in Camden, ME. Our room was well done and the bathroom was one I would have in my own home. Beautiful tiled shower with body jets, double sinks, working fan! The complementary breakfast was above average. We enjoyed the rooftop bar where the staff were incredibly nice and efficient. The 4 out of 5 rating is due to street noise that makes sleeping a challenge. There is a mail facility directly across the street and they begin work at 4:00 AM. Still, this is a good choice for a couple of nights in Camden.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night getaway and were completely satisfied. The personnel at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was very nice especially the bathroom with the radiant heated floor and great shower. We asked for extra pillows prior to arrival and were pleasantly surprised with many fluffy pillows on the bed. It’s conveniently located near the waterfront and local eateries. Parking may be an issue if you get in late or if it’s busy in town. The view outside was not the best, a pizza restaurant, but we still sat out on the patio.

A beautiful property and a lovely room with a nice view and a super comfortable bed and that's where it ended. I'm very surprised no one has written a review that told of how atrocious their parking situation is. You better have a mini cooper or a Fiat to get into the spots behind the hotel, they are small, narrow, and on an angle. There was nothing available when I arrived, on their website they state you can park anywhere behind the hotel. The gift shops and restaurant that are located there have signs that you canNOT! Also if you find a narrow parallel spot behind the hotel, you cannot drive into it if you enter after the hotel on Bay View Landing. You need to enter before the hotel on Commercial street and then take a right. Again, an email should've been sent stating this. I paid extra to stay on the top floor with the ocean view, it also would've been nice if the hotel told me upon check in, that there would be TONS of noise in the afternoon when they were setting up their rooftop bar. Coming back to rest before dinner after a long day was impossible. I walked back to the inn at 2:30pm and asked if my room was ready. I was told, yes yeah it's been ready for awhile, the girl at the desk who checked me said she would text me when it was and THAT NEVER HAPPENED. Finally when I checked out, the person at the front desk just took my keys, never said drive safely, did you have a good time, anything we could do better? Very disappointing experience all around. Would NOT return.

Great hotel in the most lovely little town. We enjoyed the 4th of July holiday there with wonderful food and things to do and see and everyone at the hotel was so warm and friendly. We enjoyed the harbor shops and restaurants all within a couple minutes walking distance and sailing on a chartered sail boat.

Met in lobby with fresh herb infused water -homemade cookies & coffee We loved our Beautiful room. The staff was conscientious -kind & attentive. And what a Great location-we walked everywhere! We highly recommend this lovely hotel ! We had a great time

This was my second stay. I love the rooms with balcony and fireplace. The bathroom is spacious with great amenities. Luxury linens, towels and pillows. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good. The only item missing was slippers...
