Cambria Shores Inn

My wife and I have visited Cambria for decades and have stayed at the Cambria Shores Inn many times. We love the location and the motel staff is very pleasant. Our last stay gave us quite a surprise. The bathroom was disgusting. I’ll try to post a photo, but if that’s not allowed, just take my word that the shower and baseboards were moldy and in dire need of repair/replacement.

Fell in love with this quaint hotel! And with the seaside enclave of Cambria Highlights include: -location-cambria is the cutest!! has a Gorgeous view, right across from moonstone beach with lots of Adirondack chairs smartly situated around the property to sit, relax let your troubles melt away ! -staff: friendly , professional -lots of personal touches-free glass o’ vino, warm cookies/brownies ( after 5pm) -doggies welcome! -beds comfy-basket of books next to fireplace-real dishes-& napkins, the layout of the room is nice, -breakfast basket every mornin’ Lowlights-didn’t want to leave :(

I almost don’t want to write this review bc then the secret will be out🥴 What an absolutely charming little motor inn! Reminds me of vacations my family took when I was little and we’d stay at the mom and pop places not the big fancy hotels (not that they don’t have their own merits). We arrived to fresh baked cookies, check in was smooth and we received vouchers for a free glass of wine from the tasting room adjacent to the inn-Madeline’s. Scott was fabulous-great host and had a wealth of info about town. He told us to come back after we unloaded our bags bc brownies would be ready shortly. So we unpacked, for our complimentary glass of wine (delicious!!) and the brownies has just come out of the oven! We took out r wine and dessert and sat in the Adirondack chairs out front and breathed in all that lovely sea air! Boardwalk is right across the street. (It’s under construction right now though! 😳) Such a relaxing vibe. Very dog friendly and several folks brought their furry friends along. And the doggos are not forgotten at treat time as they have little biscuits (peanut butter I think?) for their dining enjoyment! The room was spacious and had a fridge, microwave and fireplace (it gets chilly on the coast at night) . Beds are comfy! Water pressure great. Hair dryer and coffee maker in the room as well. Continental breakfast is included which was fruit, pastries and string cheese and a carafe of orange juice. Coffee and tea are also available at the office. In the morning, Lisa was charming and helped us with the day’s activities. The only thing wrong was that our visit was too short! We will absolutely be back! 10 out of 10!

This was our first time staying here and it was really a good experience. We stayed here because they are dog friendly and they really do treat your pup well with a gift bag when you arrive with a flashlight and waste bags with holder. They have dog treats in the lobby and cookies & brownies for the humans. Upon arriving they give you vouchers for a glass of wine at Madelines . The room has dog dishes provided and a dog blanket for the bed and no carpets which is great for a pet room. The room also has a microwave & refrigerator and ours had a little outside patio with a view of the ocean. The bathroom was great too. They also deliver breakfast to your room in a basket hanging by your door. They really have thought of everything. The room was clean and comfortable with a fireplace. I think the only thing missing was maybe a hook by the door for a leash. We would definitely stay here again.

This place is a gem! Charming and authentic, it feels like stepping back in time to the golden age of California car travel in all the best ways, but it is also spotlessly clean, comfortable and updated to modern expectations. The best part of staying here is by far the location — a sweet spot in the middle of Moonstone Beach with a beautiful lawn area to sit and watch the waves. The staff is gracious, welcoming and generous with the little bonuses the Inn offers, such as tea service, breakfast baskets, and dog treats. The kind of place you claim as your own and go back to again and again over the years.

What a find! This place has a wonderful position and our room was well appointed and tastefully furnished. The welcome we received was genuine and warm. The breakfast baskets were varied and generous. There were lots of nice touches including wine tasting on arrival and cookies in the afternoon. We left feeling relaxed and refreshed and were sorry to leave. Judith and Richard

We really enjoyed staying here! The staff is friendly and helpful, the place is nice, the rooms are comfortable, the afternoon wine and brownies are a fun bonus, being right across from the beach is terrific, and it’s not far from Hearst Castle and elephant seals, though the included breakfast is weak and was more like an appetizer.

We had another wonderful stay at the Cambria Shores Inn on Moonstone Beach. The staff, guests and their dogs are always so friendly! We brought our new puppy and she agrees. The hotel is very dog friendly. Doggy covers for the beds are provided as well as a mat with two dog bowls. The center succulent garden is filled with comfortable Adirondack chairs to enjoy the ocean view in the morning with coffee or in the afternoon with wine and cheese. The staff provided a list of dog friendly restaurants which was very helpful. The hotel is close to Hearst Castle, several nice beaches as well as the elephant seal sanctuary if you are interested in exploring. A wooden boardwalk spans the beach in front of the hotel for nice walks. Madeline's Restaurant now has wine tasting at the hotel or you can order by the glass. The wine was very good. Light food plates are also available. We can't say enough about the Cambria Shores Inn and highly recommend!

Friendly staff, great location. Wish we would have reserved a longer stay but that is our fault. Ample parking, but the chairs-being able to just sit outside with a nice drink , priceless! Have stayed at other places on Moonstone but will definitely be back.
