Great stay and costumer service close to stores and restaurants, family friendly hotel and at a great price. Near a theater for you to enjoy with family I really recommended if you passing trough also close to the border if you like to enjoy some Mexican food.

The worst hotel stay I have had in years! The hotel is being renovated inside and out. They should have reduced rates but charged us $219.00 for one night plus a $50 deposit. I checked with the credit card company but the deposit had not been credited by the time I got home about 6 hours later. The clerk told me the credit was being returned while I was at the front desk getting the receipt. My wife and I checked in about 1:30 PM on a Friday but we couldn't get in the room because the carpet was drying. We left our luggage with the desk clerk and went on to do our business in Mexicali. About 6:30 PM we returned, retrieved our luggage and went to the room. The door was wide open and an industrial fan was sitting on the carpet. I took it back to the front desk and verified that the key cards worked. We crashed about 7:00 PM due to a long drive and busy day. The next morning we got up about 6:00 AM, got dressed and hurried to the breakfast room expecting to get fueled for the return drive. The room was locked. The front desk clerk said they weren't serving breakfast but they could offer us coffee and fruit or croissants or cold cereal. This should have been mentioned at check in. Not at all what we were expecting and there was no place to sit down. If we went back to the room there were two desks but only one chair which we found in the bathroom when we got to the room the night before. If you sit in the chair at a desk there is not space for someone to pass between the chair and the bed. Disgusted we left and had to pay for breakfast at a nearby Denny's. I will never stay at this place again! You can get a better room in San Diego for about $150 with an excellent breakfast. Why this backwater border town charges what they do I don't understand.

Room was clean front desk very helpful Enjoyed my stay, staff was friendly and efficient. The breakfast items were good and the coffee was excellent. I would definitely stay there again. Parking was good perfect for my work truck. Restaurants in walking distance

We went a family trio just for one night and our stay was great. Nice clean and lovely hotel People is very friendly and we loved our stay there. Thank you Holiday Inn express for taking care of us like always do.. I will recommend you Stay in this hotel.

If you need a bed and shower that's about all this place is worth but be aware or you could get scammed like I did! I've stayed at this hotel a few times (a LAST resort and only if desperate) One particular time plans were interrupted so I canceled my reservation an ENTIRE week prior to the stay. Whelp to my surprise I was charged anyway! It's been 3 months and these frauds that stole my money refuse to give it back! I disputed the charge with my credit card company and submitted the canceled reservation and on multiple occasions this hotel has refused to return my money! After finally contacting Holiday Inn reservations directly I receive a call from the hotel directly stating my credit card company never provided them a copy of the canceled reservation (which makes no sense because it's the only thing I ever submitted with my dispute) AND the Holiday Inn reservations line pulled my canceled reservation RIGHT UP when I spoke to them. LONG story short I sent over the canceled reservation directly to the hotel and weeks later I STILL don't have my money!!!! Nothing but delays and excuses. I am beyond frustrated you would think after their incompetence and negligence I'd at least get an apology but nope not even that much! Excuse after excuse claiming they never got the cancelation notification and they need to ensure their accounting department doesn't refund me more than once. I call BS and will be reporting to the BBB and everywhere else I can think of. Proceed with caution if you must!

Hotel lobby, halls and and room smelled nice. Bed was comfortable, lots of pillows. Room was clean. Was a typical Holiday Inn hotel room. Nothing more. But sometimes that is all you want in a hotel, sometimes a hotel does not have to be more than a nice place to spend a day or two and a safe place to park your car. And this is it. The hotel is a little older than most Holiday Inn's, but still able for its purpose-- a nice quiet lodging. Now, if you are on your way to Yuma or San Diego, stay here in Calexico instead of Holiday Inn's or other IHG properties in either of those two cities which are only an hour or two away and where IHG room prices are much higher. And you get to save breakfast money too, the breakfast is good.

The staff is always friendly. The rooms could use remodeling, but with that being said, they will be starting remodeling this month! I look forward to many more stays at this location. I would recommend it.
