Elba Carlota Beach & Golf Resort

We have just returned from a week’s stay at this hotel. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Our room was on the 5th floor and had a side sea view. The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a mini fridge but it was empty. The food was ok, nothing special. Sometimes you had to queue to get in the restaurant. There was a snack bar by the pool which was open during the day, however when we looked in here there wasn’t much choice at all. In the evening the lobby bar was the main place to go for a drink. There was entertainment sometimes in the theatre and sometimes in the Sinatra bar downstairs. We didn’t go to the theatre so can’t comment on that, we did go to the Sinatra bar a couple of times and it was quite a good atmosphere. The entertainment was ok. The hotel is in a great spot with a lovely beach to the front across the little promenade. There is a very modern shopping complex next door. The promenade leads to a lovely little harbour and there are shops, restaurants and bars around this area. If we had a negative it was that our room card key stopped working three times, so we had to go to reception to get it reprogrammed. This was very annoying. Reception staff didn’t even offer an apology. We did enjoy our stay, but think a week is enough.

It's a good spot, nicely situated close to a long promenade and not far from the airport. A heated pool is advantageous, but the water temperature could be a bit higher. The food selection is overall good, but the restaurant (as well as other parts of the hotel) might need some renovation. Seems like smoking by the pool is not prohibited. Also, most of the UK tourists tend to block sunbeds early in the morning (7 a.m. even). Side-view rooms might be noisy, especially in the morning, since there are two delivery/loading areas located on both sides of the hotel. The closer your room is to the seaside, the better.

Very clean and pleasant hotel ,staff all exceptional. Especially WILLIAM in the main indoor bar. Pools and pool bar excellent Inc all staff , food was reasonable/ good. Waiting staff very good and efficient but friendly also ... excellent Christmas decor in reception was awesome... We would definitely use this hotel again and would highly recommend it to anyone..thanks for a lovely holiday... regards Jimmy s ( Scotland )

On entering this hotel I got the impression straight away this was not a 4 star hotel the furniture in reception was old and dated. The gentleman on reception had a unironed suit that looked dirty and this gave me my first impression of what to expect from this hotel the lift's have open glass which was dirty and our room was very dated and furnishings were very old. We are all inclusive but I only used the restaurant on the first evening the place was full and the staff could not keep up I found no plates and most of the foods were to waiting to ve replenished. This hotel should be a three star at most and I would advise to check out the hotel before investing money.

Once again another awesome stay with our Carlota. So nice to catch up with the Staff and returning guests with whom we have built friendships over the past 10nyears. It is always our pleasure to celebrate our Birthdays with you all every year. Ignore any negative reviews and open your hearts to this wonderful Hotel and the hard working Staff who we regard as Family. A big shout out to the Animation Team who work hard and keep everyone entertained and the Bar Staff who are all Fabulous.

Hotel good but maintenance needed all over the hotel. Service good but improvements needed. Food average but don’t let this put you off. Entertainment good. All inclusive drinks (cocktails) need choice increasing but lots of local choice. Rooms for two not three very uncomfortable temp bed added to rooms all rooms the same all temp beds small and uncomfortable Matress. Good location. Staff friendly. More staff required in restaurant dinning experience felt rushed not a relaxed experience. Lucas from entertainment team well what a pleasure to have someone so confident funny and inviting getting you doing things you’d never see yourself doing but made things fun! All in all as long as you don’t pay big bucks this hotel is a reasonable standard but globally somewhat behind its competitors. But I would return!
