Très bon hôtel avec son emplacement exceptionnel en vu piscine et/ou mer ( l'autre côté c'est la ville et la route, pas évident).. Sinon dans l'ensemble les chambres sont très propres, service de propreté parfait.., un grand plus qu'il y a un petit frigo dans les chambres mise à disposition.. Le restaurant est très propre avec le personnel à hauteur ( seul bémol : que l'eau de "robinet" est payant).., sinon la nourriture est très variées et fraîche.. Dans l'ensemble 4 sur 5.. À recommander

1. When I had arrived I decided to have a shower, however, the water was scalding hot. I was trying to get away and switch the thing off when I slipped and hurt my side which is still painful. The bruising is horrendous. I reported this to reception who were not interested. This meant I was restricted to the vicinity. Couldn't lie on sunbeds. Just sitting on plastic chairs. 2. The food was cold and substandard. 3. There were no Jet2 reps anywhere near the hotel at any point. I had hoped to book an excursion but that would have been difficult with my injury. Reception knew nothing about excursions. 4. On leaving. My room card had been deactivate whilst at breakfast, before checkout time. I had to get my case out of the room. Had to go to reception and get it reactivated for 10 mins. The lifts were busy too. Painful holiday memories. Won't be returning.

We stayed at the Hotel Santa Monica for our honeymoon in 1974 when it first opened. We returned 50 years later as part of our Golden Wedding celebrations and were so pleased we did. The hotel was so different to how we remembered it – the improvements and refurbishments over the years had bought it fully up-to-date and very comfortable. We let the hotel know in advance why we were returning, and they made us very welcome, the reception staff and management were just lovely. We had a record of which room we had stayed in first time around (on a top floor with a sea view) and asked for the same room as on our first visit ... the team were kind enough to do this, which made it extra special. More generally the hotel was lovely, restaurant and food good, and the plenty of sunbeds round the pool. Special thanks to Vicky and Minerva on reception and Juan the bar manager for making us so welcome. (Photos show our visits from 1974 and 2024!)

This is our 3rd stay at santa Monica in the last 3 years. We have stayed in the same room each time. We absolutely love Calella and this hotel is a great place to stay. The staff are friendly. There is plenty of choice at meal times , with fresh meat cooked on a hot plate at the buffet counter by a chef each evening. Entertainment is mainly Spanish , but the compares can translate into English ,especially for the Bingo each night. This hotel guests are mainly Spainish. Hotel close to stunning beaches , shops , restaurants and a train station with direct routes to Barcelona. €11.80 pp return. With love Calella and this hotel so much we have booked again for May 2025.

The food was cold .not much choice .big pans with cold food awful your best to go out to get hot food. Lifts takes ages to get a lift .staff ok entertainment at hotel was catered to the Spanish. Safes in room very small but not expensive it's a key safe so you need to take it out with you room clean .not far from shops and bars

The location is pretty good, just a short walk from the beach, and the town is within walking distance. There's a road train which stops right outside of you want, we took it out but had a slow walk back. It isn't far. Take a kettle, we didn't this time, but you can rent them out for your stay from the reception team who were clear, welcoming and helpful. We didn't upgrade to the seaview rooms, but probably will if we return. Our view was a bit of void land but we were able to get a vibe of the town that way, and we kept a look out for the cats that were regulars there. The food was great, plenty of options for me and the wife. All very fresh. All the people working the kitchens and dining area were exceptional and personable, too many to name - except for the robot, who we named Ricardo (or Ricky after we had a few wines). It was very clean, the cleaners tidied the beds and bathroom of the room daily, and well. The main hotel was also very clean. The bar workers were fun guys. They handle two sides of a bar that cannot see the other, and I heard knocking tapping and whistling, which would have annoyed me greatly if I were working there. Tania literally never stops: setting up, preparing lemon slices, cleaning, serving drinks all go. Evening music does need more variety. I would have liked to have been DJ! Thanks for the stay, we had a great time.

No daytime animation. Limited entertainment on a night! Generous portions of drinks served on AI package. Nice pool area. Good snacks available at bar. Better entertainment needed! Eg; multi cultural singers on a night quicker transitions between events? ( 20 mins waiting for something to happen!)

The hotel was okay probably not a 4 star, lacks organisation in the dining room, long queues to get food. Our room was a sea view and was nice, very clean, plenty of sun beds as was more spanish people than english, pool was fine, the lifts were very slow and only had the one, lots of queues for this, location was very good, close to the beach and shops.

I do not recommend. 4-star Medplaya Santa Monica Hotel with low-quality infrastructure. Canteen - Small for so many guests that generate huge queues at meal times. The food is good but they only serve sparkling drinks, hot drinks are only available at breakfast. Bar - Ok, with access to any type of drinks. Excellent entertainers, very friendly but the repertoire is very repetitive, especially for children. Reception - Depends on the person on duty, they are generally not very attentive. Personel - Friendly and attentive but not very determined, perhaps due to the huge volume of tourists. Some of the customer service staff are Ukrainians and speak little or no Spanish and little English. Calella - Sand beaches with stones and access to the sea only for people who know how to swim, I don't recommend it for families with children. Coral Travel - Terrible quality, they are simply interested in making money, service and support does not exist. Excursions - The bus tour to Costa Brava, which includes a visit to Tossa del Mar, a boat trip and a gastronomic visit, was canceled without prior notice and there are no major alternatives due to the volume of tourists and lack of free seats. In general, the town of Calella, as well as the regions close to Costa Brava, despite being well rated, the high number of tourists and the low quality of beaches and service are not the right place to spend a peaceful and profitable holiday.

Spent 2 weeks at this hotel ,most of which we enjoyed .The rooms were nice and the pool was great ,no sunbed rush in a morning got a bed anytime ,not many English holiday makers. We went half board the food was average, the only reason we would not return are the queues in the dining room sometimes back up 2 flights of stairs, then once you get in another queue for food, tried different times but no better. Area was near to beaches and shops.

I give these 2 stars because of the location only. Nice beach and lots of activities available in beach area. But hotel is not as expected . we went there last week of May 2024 and temperature reached 25 Celsius. Although it indicates that air condition room in facilities, we got rooms without A/C. When I asked about it , I was told that whole hotel have a system that switch on a/c for all rooms at once and individual rooms can not switch on a/c itself. They are going to switch it on week after we finish our holiday which was a shame. Our room was so small for a family of 4 and room was so hot at night with no A/C. Kids didn’t get good sleep. Holiday was a disaster. Food was not great either. Evening entertainment is just a 20 minute of bingo daily during our stay and then just simply play music only. I’m surprised it is a 4 star hotel.

Stayed here for 1 week end of August 2023- been home a day. Have to say was not impressed with my stay at all. Most probably best to bullet point why as follows: Positives Air con in the bedrooms Mini fridge in the bedroom to store own drinks Room was clean Cleaners came regularly Breakfast was nice- variety of pastries, full English, fruit, tea, juice etc. the dessert at dinner was nice. Negatives • On my third day I was informed by a member of staff and saw on arrival 90 students check in- some of these students were staying in the room next to mine. On the third night they played music full volume from the TV which was on the wall on my side at 11pm at night- I complained and the staff member informed me there had been other complaints already. The students then left at midnight and came back at 3 or 4am banging doors, knocking on other students doors, laughing, being genuinely loud with no consideration for anybody else. This happened again on the three other nights throughout my stay each time I complained and was informed teachers had been told and were dealing with it- this did not happen. At one point I was banging on the walls at 4am as they were clearly taking the piss. I asked to move rooms the day before I came home so I could at least get one decent night sleep due to an early flight and was told the hotel was full. Another member of staff with whom I complained to at 11.45pm told me he did not understand it and had noticed them all coming back drunk at 4am and agreed feeling that security should have been on sight with there being so many. It felt like a child’s playground. • The lifts took forever and when your on a higher floor you could be waiting a while to be able to get a lift to come up or a lift would come up that is full • the food in the evening was bland and not very child friendly for families with children who had a choice of cold chips or burnt sausages the majority of my stay. The bread at times was stale. I had chicken one night which when I sliced into was pink on the inside. The rice was cold, a lot of fish options which is good if you like fish which not all people do. • if you pay half board which I did you are given only tap water with your evening meal whereas the all inclusive members are given bottled water- the tap water came in jugs and was warm the majority of the time. I was informed when I asked for the water the all inclusive guests got that I can’t have it as it tastes different- I found this basic. Basic treatment for people who pay half board an expect to get at least a decent cold glass of water with their evening meal if not entitled to any other drinks like the all inclusive members. • you now get charged a tourist tax on arrival which I’ve never known before coming to this hotel • the entertainment was poor in the evening- it included 25 mins of the same nursery songs sang every evening for a lot of children who were over the age of 7- one night they played a game after this where p

Hotel is nice, clean staff are nice and helpful. Beds are comfy and rooms aren't too cramped for family of 4. Fridge in our room which is handy for water. Food and Drink... we went all inclusive to me it's a waste unless your going to live on cheese or ham n cheese toasties and pork burgers (it's not beef) and drink only san Miguel or vodka and sodas very little options majority of drinks has fee even if your all inclusive .... each day there's choice for all inclusive food the pool 1 snack 1 sweet 1 sandwich and choice of 2 hot food, basically popcorn or nuts a muffin or pastry ham n cheese toasties or cheese toasties and a burger or crepes. chips pizza nuggets etc are all extra. The buffet is not great if you've a fussy eater forget about it. Pasta and salad was OK fish and meat very oily and poor selection. No drinks wit dinner only water you'd want to bring them up from the bar with you. Ice creams by the pool are only for kids for 1 hour of the day with all inclusive , they are 2 to 4 euro each outside that. Pool is fabulous lots of sunbeds but cud do wit shades. Great location close to beach and shops and main strip of restaurants not far. Don't waste your money wit all inclusive like we did it's very very basic and misleading. Entertainment is not great either a quiz or bingo done through an app on ur phone at 10/10.30pm when ur fit for bed if you've kids. It's a nice hotel but I wouldn't come back again.

Stayed here for 1 week in June 2023. Positives: - food was great Negatives- - entertainment wasn’t great - the snacks for all inclusive during the day were shocking, few sweets in a small dish. - drinks were absolutely atrocious, cocktails were pre mixed from a machine. Barely any alcohol in. - we complained during our initial stay twice, however the hotel didn’t record these complaints therefore when I complained to jet2 upon my return, they advised there was no record of these complaints which meant they would not proceed with our complaint as the first point of call should have been to the hotel (which is was!) Overall I would not recommend staying here!
