This hotel is very good, tram stop close by to get into the centre of Caen. The staff were excellent really helpful. The rooms a small but you are only sleeping in there, the breakfast is continental with scrambled eggs and bacon plenty of food the evening meal was a set menu but you can order either one course two or three. The area is quiet at the weekends don’t know what’s it’s like during the week. There is an American style grill round the corner never went so can’t comment.

I have just got home from a Leger battlefield tour, i, like many others read the reviews and was a bit concerned.... So, this hotel is clearly budget, and starting with the less good points, its a little way out of town, rooms aren't huge and its a tiny bit dated. The bathroom is very small but functional, however it was clean and loads of hot water. But..... speaking for myself, its impeccably clean, had good quality bedding, has a tram stop outside if you want to head into town, free wifi and despite the reviews about the unpleasant staff, I found them lovely and all had reasonable english skills too. Breakfast was typically continental and of a good standard, but the breakfast room isn't huge, so an early start seemed to work well. I am vegetarian, so didn't opt for the meals in the hotel, but fellow travellers seemed more than happy with their dinners and quite complimentary about it. In terms of food there is a buffalo grill next door (steak house) and thats literally next door, over the road is a carrefour with a couple more eateries, and if you turn right, there is macdonalds 2 minutes away. So there are plenty of options. The wifi was a bit hit and miss, but its free so you can't moan. If you do need wifi, then macdonalds was very good for that. I don't know how much the rooms cost as it was part of a package, so i can't comment on value. Personally, I would have no issues staying here again and for an out of town hotel, would recommend it.

Stayed, like many other reviewers, as a participant on a Leger Battlefield Tour, so I was expecting a functional base to rest and eat after a long day on the road. This hotel met the needs of the visit very well. As regards the location, it is fine if you are there as part of a tour group but a little out of town if you are travelling independently. The room was small but the bed was comfortable and there was a kettle, with tea/coffee kit. The bathroom was somewhat cramped and in need of a little renovation but I gather the new owners are working on the accommodation so it can only get better. The restaurant offered a good continental breakfast and an evening menu, with a choice of three main dishes. The food was tasty and well presented - I have no complaints. Finally, a word of appreciation for the staff, who were friendly, sociable and helpful.

This is the equivalent of a truck stop hotel in an industrial area of Caen. I complained immediately to try and get a room change and they just gave a gaelic shrug and said not possible full. I tried on 2 occasions to move rooms to no avail. Even Leger reps agreed but did nothing on seeing the room. Whats worse I wrote with photos to Leger complaints and after over a month received a letter apologising but saying if i decided to travel with them again " let them know and they will look after me". no refund or discount. I had always wanted to travel on the DDAY landings tour. I met veterans and some great people inspite of the shoddy company & dreadful hotel. Have a look at the hotel room. (pics uploaded) like something from the 1960's stained carpet mouldy cracked and filthy shower that stank of damp. No wardrobe dirty soiled toilet. Horrible ive stayed in better hostels alot better hostels infact

Stayed here during a Leger battlefield tour. Had booked as a single traveller, but got a twin room (room 5) so I had a bit of room and I was also on the ground floor. Room was at the side of the hotel and was very quiet. No drawers but plenty of hangers. No table as such but large shelf under window instead, with tea/coffee facilities. Bathroom was adequate but make such shower curtain is inside the shower basin otherwise you will end up with a flooded bathroom floor. Bar area was adequate albeit quite small. Restaurant/breakfast area was good and food was very good. Would stay here again if in the area.
