Econo Lodge Cadillac

A good bargain for the summer season! Clean rooms, friendly staff, & close to town. There are entry doors for room to hall & to parking outside your room. I stayed in a room with king size bed. There was an older model TV but it worked & had a clear picture. There was a nice size mini fridge with a tiny freezer but no microwave or coffee pot- you have to go to breakfast room for that. I was close to it so it was ok. Plenty of outlets for your electronics too! I had a nice table & 2 chairs for my laptop & paperwork. Breakfast includes assorted cereals, breads, pastries, yogurt, juice, milk and fruit besides instant coffee from a machine.

This is my fourth visit in six years. Each time it gets better. More new carpets, fresh paint, newer linens, etc. Friendly check-in/out. As expected of Econo, the breakfast is minimal. They have 4 VERY SUGARY cereal options if you want to get your kids hyped up for the car ride home. It would be nice if they offered an adult cereal like regular old Corn Flakes or Rice Krispies. If you want a real breakfast at a great price try the $5 complete breakfast at the Frosty Cup down the street (turn right from the Econo parking lot, across the bridge). There were some problems maintaining a wireless internet connection, but when it was up it was pretty good. I had a view of a tiny bit of Lake Cadillac from my room. Ground floor rooms have both an interior corridor entrance and a nice, secure, french door to the parking lot. Second floor rooms have a balcony. No guest laundry, but there's a good laundromat up the street (turn left from parking lot, ***** mall near traffic light).

The furniture and linens are dated. I sunk so far into the bed I felt like I was on the floor. The continental breakfast is a joke. No hair driers in the room and I nearly knocked myself unconscious on the "closet" bar, which was right next to the bed. No pool, no gym, but they do have wi-fi. We stopped on the way up to Interlochen and will explore our options further next time rather than just pick the cheapest room.

I was on my way to Mackinac and wanted a place to stay that would allow me to ride my bicycle some more before proceeding. I read the reviews here and I thought it was a good choice until I arrived. The outside looks like you would expect from an older motel/hotel sort of atmosphere. Once you walk in you can tell why the hotel is discounted. Wow, the orange carpet in the hallways is atrocious. So many stains and looks like it has been through a lot. I was very scared walking to my room as also there is NO elevator and you are only two floors but still the hallway/stairwell looks like something out of a prison movie. Also the outside stairwell is always unlocked and open to anyone in the middle of the night to be able to walk into the building with no key and no one seeing them as the front desk is a separate entrance. Horrible and I mean horrible security risk in my opinion. The inside of the room was nicer than expected and I do like the mini fridge and microwave but I would never stay here again. Also if you are traveling with bicycles I would be warned. They do not have a place to lock them up and do not allow them in many areas. I had to carry them up the second floor in before mentioned stairwell to the room to place them on the outside balcony. There is also some very old things you can tell that are a bit nasty like the light switch in the bathroom looks like it was from the dawn of time. Very loud if you have many neighbors or residents staying close to you. They were also not prepared for the amount of guests that we were arriving with. Nice people and all but overall no.

This is my third time here in three years. The rooms have been repainted since my last visit. Lots of maintenance and renovations going on. Looks like new fridge, but old a/c window/wall unit. Manager said new carpeting is probably the next project. Wi-fi signal very strong (even in my end unit room) and download speed of just over 16mb, which is faster than I have ever seen in a hotel. I especially like having both an interior entrance and a sliding door to the patio/parking lot. Good water pressure in shower, free breakfast wasn’t much (but about what expected). Overall, a very pleasant stay. Next year will probably be visit #4 and I’ll be expecting even more improvements. Incidentally, the Frosty Cup restaruant about a quarter mile down the road (across the bridge) is a pretty good inexpensive place for breakfast or an ice cream dessert after dinner.

very clean and modern room, nice & quiet environment. The breakfast bar could use updating I would say that was the only disappointment. the staff was courteous and friendly. we will definitely stay here again in the future. I would definitely recommend!

We made a spontaneous ski trip to Caberfae and were looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in Cadillac for one night. The EconoLodge is a solid, no frills, updated, clean motel. The staff was super friendly and booked a room over the phone for me. We had a first floor king room on the front of the building, which had an entrance from the parking lot and the interior hallway. The room was clean, loved the tile floor (it was snowy and easy to avoid any puddles we made with boots since we could see them). Limited supplies in the bathroom but there was a blowdryer. Breakfast was super basic: cereal, toast/bagels, egos, instant oatmeal. My one recommendation is to avoid first floor front side rooms during the winter. The snow mobiles tend to gather out there and it was noisy and blocked our exit for a brief while.

You don't get much for a $90 motel Stay Anymore, but this place is nicer than then chain hotels costing $150. Starts with a friendly check-in, then the room is super clean. I love that this place has a French Door and patio or balcony with every room. I was able to sit very comfortably just outside my room, work on my computer, while enjoying a fine cigar! Definitely one of my favorites in the whole state of Michigan.

We have stayed in many motels (Econolodges included) but this surpasses them all! The room had a hard floor (hate carpet in hotel rooms), comfortable bed, table & chairs, microwave, refrigerator, wonderful shower and large TV. It was clean and updated. We didn't miss a coffee maker bc it was easy to get in the breakfast room. The breakfast was good, having hot items as well as cold. We also had a small patio with chairs. Even tho it's on a busy road we didn't hear it nor did we hear neighbors. I would highly recommend for overnight but also longer stays. Oh, you get 10% off at the restaurant next door.
