Tru by Hilton Beaufort

This particular hotel has left me feeling so discouraged about all Hilton Hotels at this point. The front desk clerk was as rude as I’ve ever met in the customer service industry. It was so obvious I was bothering her that I had to ask her at one point if I had done something to offend her, fully aware that I hadn’t even opened my mouth yet to say a word. I was ignored, not acknowledging me when I asked questions. It was as if I was a phantom standing there, other than rolling her eyes when I walked through the door. I was repeating questions to her because she wouldn’t get off her computer long enough to help me so she was not hearing me the first time. And when I asked her to give me my credit card back, she pulled her hand back and told me not to snatch it from her. After driving nearly 12 hours and arriving in Beaufort at this hotel at 12:30 in the morning, and exhausted, and that’s what I was greeted with. Had this have happened with someone without restraint, it could’ve ended horribly. Not a smart move on her part at 12:30am. She was about to go to jail for credit card theft. I prepaid for for the room yet she tried to me control me with my credit card and impress power over me by not giving it back to me unless it was under her terms. I didn’t come AND PAY to be bullied by someone that has no idea how to treat people. But as long as she got her point across to me by showing me that I am beneath her standards, that I was a bad person solely because of the color of my skin was absolute prejudice and honestly, her behavior was disgusting. It was completely surprising considering this is within the hospitality industry and at Hilton no less. Hilton hotels, you just lost a customer for life, I’ve been using you for 35+ years personally and professionally for business functions and ballroom dance competitions generating a lot of revenue for Hilton hotels. Your own employee just took thousands of dollars from your pocketbook by means of practicing discrimination towards a long standing customer.

The hotel was not exactly clean as a whole. Linens didn't feel or smell fresh. Noisy and and definitely it has seen some wear and tear.

Booked a king room, when I checked in I was given a double room .I showed the representative my email that I have booked King room and he stated that on his end that it was a double room so I didn’t want to start a argument so I took the double even though I booked the king got in the room the television sounds wasn’t working. The rep came to fix it, but by midnight, it went out again. The phone wasn’t working, the toilet was making noises all night. The alarm clock went off at 5:30 and woke me and my husband up.

Great hotel Everything was great. Location felt safe. Hotel has an awesome lobby with food and drinks for sale, large sitting area and a pool table. Our room was very nice and clean. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Very modern hotel. Customer service was excellent.

Good hotel in a good location. Just 10 min from downtown Beaufort. Room was clean and spacious. Free breakfast. The front desk staff could be a bit more pleasant. Often seemed like you were a bother to them when asking a question. Overall the hotel is nice and we felt safe. Tip through, get a receipt when you leave, we found out when we got back home they charged us a pet fee even though we didn't have a pet with us and we can't seem to get that $50 refunded. Lesson learned, get a receipt when checking out.

Lumpy Beds Lobby area is nice and accommodating. The hot water available for tea is not very hot. Rooms are on the smaller side but clean. The worst part was the bed, extremely lumpy. We had family staying in another room and they had the same problem with their beds. Great location to the Spanish Moss Trail for exercise.
