A n ideal place to stay for exploring Devon . Cottage was ideal, right next door to pub. Plenty of space in car park. Lovely owners who provide good pub food and excellent service. We have been before and standards were as good as first time. We will go again I'm sure. Well worth a visit

It was AMAZING! The best food I've ever had in a long time, especially for a Christmas meal. My friends and family enjoyed the meals aswell. Staff was very friendly to everybody on our table. Food came out pretty quickly. Would go here again!!

Now stayed in the cottages on two occasions , lovely hosts and superb food in a beautiful and peaceful setting, and hope to visit again before Christmas also lovely to see the train's passing by on the tarka line , also had a fun evening with the bingo night

The pub is now under new management .and has 2 lovely cottages to rent . Plus a couple of rooms for contractors . Muddy paws and muddy boots always welcome.open most days for lunch and dinner . Carvery on Sundays. Lovely little beer garden . Where you can watch the birds .

Stayed a night and it was warm and comfortable with nice hot shower. Bed had a mattress protector on but had no bottom sheet. A little disappointed we couldn’t make a cuppa as no sugar or coffee. Stayed for lunch which was nice and hot and lots of vegetable and meat was nice. But gravy was packet and the stuffing was a hard ball. Landlord was a mixture of very nice on arrival but was grumpy end of night with a couple of locals who were talking to us and it was a little uncomfortable although he did apologise in the morning. So value option if you’re near by . Plus was free games of pool .

A fantastic stay the manager steve ran everything and was an amazing host I had the famous roast dinner he cooked and it was lovely my accommodation was a cottage warm beautiful and comfortable with everything for an amazing stay thank you I'll be back

Steve & Karen were the best hosts that you could ask for, we stayed for dinner 3 nights in a row and tried a different dish each night. The food was incredible and cooked to perfection every night. The pub has a very cozy and inviting atmosphere, the log burner was lovely considering how cold the temperature was outside. The kids enjoyed playing pool and couldn't wait to go back each night. This pub is a hidden gem and an asset to the village. The beer is also worth a mention as it's nicely chilled and very fresh. I can't recommend this pub enough and I hope to be re visiting soon.

Good honest roast new owners obviously no what there doing came on Friday when there was live music hopefully that will be a regular thing massive beer garden pool table darts not much too fal lt really

We came here for an early evening meal on thr last night of our holiday. The pub itself is fine and has a lively beer garden. The owner was really friendly and there was a good selection of drinks. The food is okay. The menu is very limited and only 1 vegetarian option. There burgers and pizza were enjoyed by the children but some of the adult meals weren't great the ploughman's is som3thing I would put together at home and was very expensive and the hunters chicken was over cooked and the ham wasn't what I was expecting As I say a great pub for a drink in the sun great staff but I would eat before you come.
