Northcote Manor

There is a lot to like about this historic hotel. We especially liked all the staff who are lovely - welcoming, friendly and helpful - thank you Simon for the warm welcome. We had a Classic Room - Honeysuckle - which is one of their accessible rooms (we don't need one of those but were happy with it) which is a good-sized room for the category with a super-king comfortable bed, large bathroom and quiet location in the hotel. We appreciated the fruit, home-made shortbread and mints in the room. We had a full English breakfast on both days of our stay which was delicious - we also enjoyed the overnight oats, yogurt and fruit pots, which were served in individual kilner jars. We were staying at the hotel for a family wedding (not at the hotel) so we didn't eat in the restaurant or visit the spa. The hotel has several beautiful drawing rooms which offer comfortable spaces to relax by the fire and enjoy the scenery. It is a little old fashioned in places (sachets in the breakfast room and in the rooms with UHT milk pots) and the outside could do with some tidying (painting the downpipes, for example) but as a 3-rosette hotel we think it offers a lovely stay which is excellent value.

My Daughter and I visited for a much needed pamper day. We decided to add on a nights stay to have a whole pamper day. We started in the spa with a delicious cream tea ( mine gluten free and absolutely delicious!) We enjoyed using the spa which was quiet and really relaxing. We had lovely treatments in the spa which were so relaxing and we felt very pampered. After the spa we were taken to our room Which was beautiful, very tastefully decorated and we settled in. the shower was so powerful it was lovely! Our bed was very comfy and we had a great nights sleep. Our dinner was absolutely delicious and they had remembered I was gluten free and adjusted my food without me having to keep asking. The food was delicious and well seasoned and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We had a lovely evening. Breakfast was plentiful and there was so much choice. I’d like to thank the staff for their very warm welcome, and particular thanks to the ladies in the spa who made us feel so pampered and relaxed- you have no idea how much we needed that. If you’re looking for a nice indulgent stay with delicious food and welcoming staff look no further.

This was our fifth visit to this beautiful country hotel. You cannot fault service and the food is fantastic. We had the gourmet meal on our first evening,I am still thinking about it and talking about it. Also we had the wine flight alongside,brilliant. Our second night we weren't expecting as good,but we were very pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the very warm pool and jacuzzi,superb. Thank you Northcote. We stayed in the Northcote suite.highly recommended.

We have just returned from 4 nights in this lovely hotel. The hotel is very comfortable and relaxing. The bedroom, Azalea, was spacious, well equipped with two armchairs, bath robes, etc. There was a good choice of food for breakfast and the evening meals were delightful, well presented with different specials each day. The staff are very friendly and this extended to the Spa. Special mention of Louise who always had a smile and a friendly chat and over the course of our stay appeared at breakfast, the Spa and evening meals. The Spa is excellent from the swimming pool to the jacuzzi and offered great treatments. Mollie providing relaxing massages. Behind the Spa is a terrace where we were fortunate enough to sit with a beer in the sunshine overlooking the beautiful countryside.

It's been a couple of years since we last visited Northcote Manor and we're thrilled to say their standards have not dropped a bit. The hotel, staff and food are as wonderful as they always were. We loved the swimming pool and spa facilities, and the location is amazing. Thank you to everyone at Northcote Manor for making our stay wonderful.

Just the right place for us. We had a comfortable traditional room in the old part of the house (on previous visits we stayed in the more modern rooms which were also comfortable). Excellent food, attentive service, pleasant rural setting. The lovely spa with its views is a bonus.
