We recently stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment at the Sandbar Apartments in Burleigh Heads. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with some notable highlights and a few areas for improvement. Positives: The apartment itself was very impressive. It was spotlessly clean, incredibly spacious, and bathed in natural light thanks to the abundance of windows. There were two balconies, with each bedroom having direct access. The interior featured plush carpet and underlay. We appreciated the modern conveniences, especially the iPad controls for the zoned air conditioning, allowing individual temperature settings for the living room and each bedroom. The kitchen was well-equipped with a good range of cutlery and cookware, and there was ample storage space throughout the apartment, including the kitchen and bedrooms. The main bedroom boasted a full-sized wardrobe and a walk-in wardrobe, alongside a full-sized fridge in the kitchen. Practical amenities like a washer, dryer, vacuum, and iron were also provided, as was fast internet. The on-site gym was surprisingly well-appointed for an accommodation facility, offering dumbbells up to 20kg, a cable machine, treadmill, bike, and elliptical. We were particularly pleased with the quiet environment, with no street noise or disturbances from neighbours, largely thanks to the double-glazed windows. The quality wooden hangers were a small but appreciated touch. The pool area, with its deck chairs and sunroom, was also very nice and quiet during our visit. Areas for Improvement: Inside the apartment there were no Flyscreens on the windows and balcony doors. No sheer curtains meant you can either choose to have privacy and a dark interior, or let the sunlight in and be visible- only blackout blinds were present in all rooms. Interior lights were cool white, which is rather harsh in the evening. I found respite in the bedside table lamps which are the only warm white light in the apartment. We also found the absence of a dish drainer inconvenient, as we prefer hand washing rather than using the dishwasher. Also, face washers were not provided. For this reason, I always pack my own. A point of concern for me was the incredibly strong air freshener scent in the hallway and reception area. For anyone sensitive or aware of the potential effects of artificial fragrances, this is something to be cautious of. Thankfully, the scent did not permeate into the apartment itself. Despite being blackout blinds, they still let in light around the edges, meaning that if sleeping in a bed adjacent to a curtain, outdoor lights could be quite disruptive throughout the night. The shower water pressure was very low, and the car park was quite tight. Finally, the location's current state presented some challenges. Due to extensive construction work extending both north and south, getting to the apartments and travelling around was difficult. Very well designed apartment Plenty of glass to enjoy the views Spoke to a few perminant residents who believe they have won the lottery in their purchase ! 2 balconies,one looking North at one looking East to the sea. Both bedrooms have an ensuite and a view and are well separated . Great layout.

Great location, short walk to beach and close drive to James Street. Apartment was clean but floors didn’t appear to be vacuumed. New apartments with lovely decor and views were amazing.

Sandbar Burleigh is new and stylish. The apartment I stayed in was spacious and modern with gorgeous views of the beach. It is on the highway, with lots of construction but this wasn’t an issue at all as everything is in walking distance. The beach and North Burleigh surf club are only a 5 minute stroll away. Coles is just up the road, Maccas and the bottle shop right next door and my favourite breakfast/ lunch venue ‘The Paddock’, a very easy walk to- basically across the road!! The lifts were quick, pool cool and a free car space provided. I’d definitely return.

Beautiful apartments and great facilities. Staff were also very helpful. The only negative is the rubbish shute smell on each floor due to no ventilation. No reflection on the accomodation but definitely something the body corporate needs to address.
