No13 Boutique House is a nicely presented, clean and comfortable small hotel. We had two rooms : No 2 on the first floor for myself and my wife, and No 4 on the second floor for our son. There is no reception at this hotel and details for check-in/check-out are emailed to guests prior to arrival. This is very efficient for the owners/staff, but felt very impersonal to us. It also means that there is no-one to assist with luggage when you arrive and while the curved staircase to the second floor is beautiful, it would be impossible to negotiate with a heavy suitcase. There were a few other annoying ‘glitches’: - the mini-fridge didn’t work in either room; - unlike other places where we’ve stayed in Bulgaria, bottled water was not replenished; - the safe was so small, we could put only our passports in it, no room whatsoever for any electronic devices; - although the description of the rooms states that there is a desk, this is rather misleading; there is a nice console table (very high) and a nice armchair (very low), so if you need to do some work on your computer, you’ll have to do it in bed on your lap; - beach towels were not provided on the second last day of our stay, so having returned from a long day trip we were unable to go for a dip at the nearby beach; - the tourist brochures in the foyer were only in Russian. Overall, we had a reasonably pleasant 4-night stay, but considering these shortcomings, we felt the hotel fell short of the standard it is obviously aiming at (monogrammed towels were a feature) and did not present value for money (no breakfast included and bottled water not replenished).
